Justin Hunter ESPN

You guys just hate listening to experts, don't you?

Appreciate your insight, far more valuable than all the guesses.

Do you see a difference in recovering from Achilles injuries versus ACL's? Know Ben Martin had a tough road to toe. Read an article that speculated Achilles injuries were the worst for professional athletes and by their estimation only had 50% recovery to the same level. That sounded high. Have a world of respect for Martin being able to comeback and contribute.

I also tore my Achilles and had surgery years ago, it still is not the same. It certainly seems tough to recover from.

For Hunter's sake, hope he has no mental or trust issues coming back. Looking forward to seeing him in action again soon.

"This. I'm not sure that he will be 100% in September or not. I think certain players recover quicker than others but the recovery time has improved since the early 2000's. When AP got hurt in December they were talking like he had a great chance of being ready when the 2012 season starts. I remember when torn ACL = 1 year recovery no questions asked."
take it for what its worth but my sophmore season in college i blew my knee out bad ... torn ACL and MCL... with a good surgeon and hard work in rehab i returned the following season the first day of practice and recorded my fastest 40 time to date 4.48 and went on to have a great season... Knee felt great and never had another problem with it again ... just goes to show torn ACLs arent a career ender.. with hard work in rehab Jhunt will return next season stronger than ever ....

Some have seen me post this before and to you I apologize; to others, I'll say ...

In mid 2000's my daughter was a college soccer player and between end of h.s. career and early college, she had 3 acl repairs ... and then went on to play 2 yrs of college soccer, just as aggressively as before, with little if any loss of speed. She had a new procedure done the last time and she was always fired up to work hard at rehab. But her knees look like she was in a knife-fight with a midget. :eek:hmy:

I realize the big question here is how soon he can be back. I hope it is sooner than it used to be. :hi:

I think the question wil be .how soon will he trust his knee in making cuts and putting pressure on it?

Putting a lot of pressure on Hunter is too much from the media & fans. The coaches should've come up with another offensive plan. Please dont make hunter the reason for 2011 the worst year in UT fball recent history.

I can say that cause I remember the early major years & last Battle years.

Another year in the weight room and an updated blocking scheme should do wonders for our running game. Expect a much more balanced attack this upcoming season. The beautiful part about this is that we don't even need Hunter to carry the load because we have a returning All-SEC WR in Da'Rick on the opposite side of the ball.

If we come out and tank next year like we did this year, we can definitely say it wasn't because of the personnel we had to work with.
