Justin Hunter Going Pro

Best of luck to our three departing players but I think all 3 are going to get a rude awakening at the next level. CP will be devoured as a wr and his hesitation move will not work in the NFL. JH is afraid to get hit at this level, he will not get on the field if that doesn't change. Bray lacks the work ethic or the grit to make it.

A year with this new coaching staff might make a difference but I am disappointed that they are leaving. I understand the lure of the big check, but long-range money will evade them imo.

GO VOLS!!

CP will still run circles around people. That kid is the best athlete I have ever seen.

I hope he, bray, and CP enter and go as high picks. Not because I dont want them to stick around but it boosts our prestige and helps with national attention.

Would benefit all three to stay but it is what it is. Dude needs to put on pounds he will get snapped in half in the NFL.

He is 6'4 200 pounds.

AJ Green - 6'4 207 pounds, same frame

He won't get snapped in half. He looks skinny, but that is cause he has a long frame.

Tennessee WR Justin Hunter Reportedly Entering NFL Draft | Bleacher Report

From Mr.SEC:

Hunter has responded on Twitter.

If I didn’t announce it up here it’s not true

I think JH will do fine in the NFL and wish him the best of luck if he decides to go. I would love to see him in Orange & White for one more year!

CP is a special athlete. I hope he can develop his route running because once the ball is in his hands it is absolute excitement. I think he is the best returner we have ever had including Gault.

I know I'm not a true fan, because I am telling you, my loyalty would only go so far. And if my going out and doing my thing for a 25-50k a year education that would land me a 60k a year job would put my multimillion dollar job at risk... I'm sorry but I'm picking the multimillion dollar contract every time. Good luck Hunter.

To put it another way, if he did stay you know he would be in full self preservation mode to avoid another Lattimore, and I'm not sure he'd even be that productive which would suck for both him and the fans...

How many entry-level technical positions pay $405,000/year?

Probably none but after he loses 30%-40% to taxes and his agent gets his cut and he buys the new Mercedes or Escalade, and pays for a house for his family, how much is really left? Not enough to live off the rest of his life if that is what you are thinking.

Peace out Hunter - best of luck to you!

Be sure to always rep UT on NFL Sunday introductions

This!

I think the odds are (strongly) in favor of him going, but it's anything but official yet.

Lol his signing bonus alone will be 6-8 million. Plus, making 3 mil a year, I think he's making the best decision for his family.

B.S. One of the other poster said it best. He has a rude awakening coming as do the other 2 early entry candidates. They are not what they think they are. None are 1st rounders. More like 3-4 rounders and they will not see $6M dollar bonuses. Maybe if and after they survive and prove themselves on their 2nd contract, but not out of college.

so then he goes back to college to get that degree. Plus he does it with a padded bank account and contacts that very few ever get to make.

still waiting for anyone to point out a negative

Agree.....NFL made numerous changes regarding bonus pay. CP has the best chance of success at the net level. Hunter too fragile, and Bray just not mentally tough enough to survive a fall camp.

it's anything like our prior juniors that have left early, he'll have some season ending injury before the 1st game.

i think the verdict is still out on Hunter looked pretty soft going over the middle alot.I hope he goes high in the draft and gets the big bucks. We will see.

Well with him being "just a guy" on Sundays is a lot more than you've accomplished in your life. Loser.

I'm not exactly sure what you believe that I have and have not accomplished in life, but the truth is I have no regrets. I have a pretty good life actually. I have a degree from this university we seem to love to discuss, a great wife, great children. It's a blast.

If you equate accomplishment to financial gain, I suppose you are correct. I will likely never make that kind of money, but I will also never lose one minute of sleep about it either. That said, I consider myself quite blessed. I do ok.

I am also unsure why you want to attack me personally over my opinion of the future success of Justin Hunter. I wish him no ill will. I support all former Vols. But based on what I have seen, I just don't think he will be a star at the next level. I'm sorry that was somehow offensive to you.

But if spewing venom and name calling on a chat forum makes you feel better about yourself, go ahead. I'm glad I can help.
