Hunter was suppsosed to be our signing day surprise under Kiffin but Dooley found out about it and made the kid go ahead and commit.

I seem to remember him having serious interest and taking a visit, then immediately declaring he was firm to LSU. Give Coach Dooley credit, this was all him.

Guys this is a huge pick up. He performed great at the UA game and has the speed that we need. Honestly, I like him more then Ambles and he doesnt come with the baggage.

Man this is great, way to reel 'em in Coach. Now go get some protection for the QB so we can get him the ball

He's not as good as Ambles. Ambles is more of a well-rounded wide receiver.

Hunter is good though, just needs to work on upper body strength in a huge way and running routes.

Disagree.

He's good. There's no denying that. He will be a good wide receiver. Ambles has the potential to be elite.

On an LSU board someone said that our T+F team had something to do with the switch aswell. I was under the impression LSUs was better than Tennessees. Any truth in it playing a factor?

I think Ambles is better suited to play right away. I think Hunter needs some development but has a little higher ceiling than Ambles. Hunter is a more talented version of Paige. Hopefully he does not follow the same career path as Paige.

Ambles is solid... don't kid yourselves... he was the best WR at the All-American game. His route running sets him apart and he has nice size.

Hunter also has great size and deceptive speed. Needs to get stronger and better at route running. And he can out jump anyone.

Both have elite potential and will play early. Right now I like Ambles' frame better, but Hunter will fill out.

I agree completely. Ambles is polished and much more ready to play right now. But physically, he just doesn't have what Hunter has and I don't think it's really close. Hunter's leaping ability and speed are top notch. Ambles can't touch either of those. When Hunter gets as polished and gets some more weight on, he is going to be a freak. Ambles is a sure thing. He is going to be a stud no matter where he goes. But Hunter has the physical tools to make him alot better in the long run...

Just out of curiosity, why is everyone saying that we need to get Da'rick Rogers? Is he now thinking about Tennessee? Or is this just a wishful hope? I just havent heard anything yet!

Rogers is the No. 2 WR in the country and is visiting UT this weekend. He likes coach Chaney a lot and he met with coach Dooley for 5 hours the other day.

You make room for the No. 2 WR in the country.

You may want to click on his thread? I think now there's actually two threads so kinda hard to miss.

If you want to make a comparison in terms of potential....Justin Hunter is physically gifted in the same way Randy Moss was at Marshall. He's very tall, rail thin, lightening fast, and has a vertical that is second to none. He might not be quite as shifty as Moss was...or have as good of hands...but he has almost identical physical measurables.

I'm not saying we've got the second coming of Moss on our hands, but he has gifts that most others in this class don't.
