Well yeah, I mean i get that but how do you get around that. For instance, Ensworth here in Tn, they may say its not athleticism motivated but you'll hear somebody right after that say get real....

Typically you get around by changing address. Sometimes you use grandparents or other relatives who love in that school district.

Typically if you're recruiting an in county kid, they will have at least one relative who lives in your district.

doesn't sound like due diligence was done. Has he already changed schools?

It's De La Salle driven...everytime they give a scholarship to an elite athlete and accept a transfer...it's ATHLETICALLY MOTIVATED. Apparently a one way street.

Delasalle doesn't allow kids to graduate early and EE. California can SMD! They will never get another dime of my money. I'll spend it in texas and FL!

Some High Schools in Colorado require athletes to wait a year before playing...I guess to hinder schools from stacking talent.

Not happy for KM. But, I totally agree with the attempt in trying to stop the transfers and talent stacking.

IMO, this is a + for UT if he doesn't play. Less chance of injury and our coaches can have him working in the weight room and plays this fall instead.

The only negative is that he might not be 5*, and just kill our recruiting class.

That last one was a joke.

I would sit here and explain how this statement is an indication of your own personal bias but you probably wouldn't understand it if I tried.

Irony, thy name is VonoreVol.

Take jabs all you want, but I stand behind my original post. On top of that, I coach high school ball which requires me to be certified by the TSSAA and take courses which address issues such as eligibility and tons of other topics. Other members have already explained some of the rules addressing eligibility issues so I won't go into that further, but my original post wasn't being biased, and wasn't just me popping off at random. In the end, McKenzie will be able to appeal the decision and may or may not be cleared to play based on a variety of factors.

The only thing Biased in this thread is the CIF.

Seems to me that if he appeals, the school has the burden of proof that he was transferring because of athletics and not academics.

You don't get to make a claim like that without providing some sort of factual information. You made a baseless claim and then justified it by use of the word liberal. Is it possible the group or person that made this decision did so with some sort of personal bias? It is possible... if you have proof of that happening I'd like to see it. Or is asking you to provide proof of the claim you made too "liberal"?

To prevent any school from recruiting players. Therefor any athleticism motivated move will require a player to sit out of all sports for a full calendar year (depending on the state, but that's the rule in NC).[/QUOTE

Most good high schools recruit. It starts in middle school in Florida.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but that's why the rule is in place.

The rule sounds unconstitutional to me. Public or private to prevent a kid in good standing to play a sport if he moves is BULLCRAP WRONG. I can't believe someone hasn't fought this bull already. Totally unfair to kid a good standing school and behavior wise. GO VOLS!!!

I wonder if this will have any effect on his current non-EE status?
