We have a bundled package thru AT&T (phone/internet/ TV) so going to Dish is not possible without paying a huge early termination fee. We did that a few years back and then were very displeased with Dish network and went back to Direct TV.
Now, I'm bout ready to chuck it all....
If you live in an area of a SEC school, you should be able to get it for free, from what I was told. I'm hoping that's true. I get nickel-and-dime'd enough by Comcast.
I wonder if all of those will be live or if some are replays? Also, will they be in addition to what has been broadcast in the past or are those just being moved to the new network?
I guess we will find out soon enough. It would be a shame if there are not more games broadcast after all of this angst.
According to what I have read those figures cited in the post you are referring to are what the SEC Network is purportedly charging the cable companies, not what the cable companies are charging their customers. I think most of them will have it as part of a package and they could easily drop LOGO, MSNBC, The Irritable Bowel Syndrome Network, or something no one watches so the package price doesn't change.
That is one of the sticking points in some of the negotiations since DirecTV doesn't want everyone to have to pay for the SEC Network... but they are fine with having everyone pay for Al Jizira... which has to have all of about 3 viewers depending on who is watching TV instead of playing volley ball at Guantanimo that day.
I was with DirecTV for 10 years, then went to dish about 5 years ago. No difference in service or quality of broadcasts.
which one do you like better ? I've been on Direct TV since 1998,when i moved to the sticks
i rarely have a problem with reception and then it usually doesn't last long
are Dishes packages any better priced than Directs ? and is it true that some times there stations aren't in HD ?
hmmm seems we need a thread about it
Is that still true or did they add it when they negotiated the deal?
Dish has it in with their middle channel package because that is what I have. I also have the Pac-10 network and most of the ESPN and Fox sports channels. I can get all the stations on my home computer and also my phone so I am able to watch no matter where I am.
Direct TV doing it like they are doing it is a surprise but I am glad Government Mule will be able to get the network I expect a lot of SEC women's basketball will be on the station.
