Is the Kansas game going to be a true sellout? Will students actually show up for once?

On the website it says "Obstructed View seats" are still available. How many are so defined?

I think a promotion is in order to ensure the arena is actually full. How about UT Gun Day? Free orange and white water guns to the first 5,000 fans at the Tommy Bowl.

Well for the student issue, classes do not start for 3 days after the game. I for one am coming back early, but that is still going to affect student attendance.

dorms open the 10th before the game so there should be a decent student section

The students at UT now are WEAK...can't make it back for the Kansas game? Are you kidding me? WEAK. I'm sure I'll hear the, "Oh, but I miss my family so much, I've only been home for 3 weeks now...". WEAK. I'll be there, and fully expect TBA to be a full house, except for of course our student section who can't seem to find a way to take the tampons out...the few students who do support our athletics through and through need to get through to these lost souls...

Note: Using the term, "through", 3 times in one poorly written sentence is unacceptable.

Talk to admissions and tell them to stop raising standards to get into school, and get off your high horse because a lot of people are coming back early even though I don't have a place to stay. Sorry not all of us live in Knoxville, so you can take your tampon out for not going to a Tuesday night game when we play UNC Asheville because you have better things to do.

We are playing an undefeated team that just happens to be ranked number one in the country. I'd imagine the place will be full and buzzing. I think last night's performance will only help. If we had lost last night or played very poorly then I'd be worried.

I'll be there making some noise.

i still dont understand why everyone thinks the lack of a student section when there isnt school is because we dont support the team. I'm driving 8 hrs to get there before the game that morning because this is the one that i've circled since the beginning of the year. the place will be packed dont worry about that

I have a single seat up top, row 23 and I still expect I'll show up.

I am certainly not as pumped up for this game as I was this time last Thursday, but figure it will be a good atmosphere.

I figured with the arrests that ticket prices on secondary market would crash. They are still sky high.

If nothing else, I'll be able to see Kansas play in person.

A Big Orange upset would help me get over the Chick-fil-a Bowl heartburn, for sure.

I can't wait for the game. It will be the first time I attend a UT basketball game and they are playing the number 1 team in the nation (which is my second favorite team). And I attend the University of Kentucky. haha

I agree, it is weak. I have personally been doing all I can to get fellow students excited and involved but they would rather relax in their cushy 103 seats than stand up and get crazy (One reason I have been pushing for giving the other endzone- maybe keep the chairs though- to students and taking away some of the bowl seats from us. Having teams shoot into the students in both halves could make an impact.) I went to the Kansas game in Lawrence last year (they had students in both endzones) and it was a week before class and though the students didn't fill it up, that place was rockin'. At least the students who do make the effort to come back will be jacked up and excited to see the game rather than just coming on a whim because they had nothing better to do. Btw, to Velo Vol, the view obstructed seats are the sections next to the luxury suites that stick out.

To stop raising standards to get in to school? It's competitive, that's what makes it great. So are you telling me that there are a lack of students there? I'm pretty sure there are well over 20,000, so I really don't want to hear that.

As for my tampon, I live in Nashville. I was at the game last night, drove back after and was at work at 8am. I'll also be at the game Sunday, and will be at work IN NASHVILLE the next morning, at 8am.

Pretty sure whatever dorm or apartment you live in isn't going to drop you from the fall to spring semester, so quit being lazy and get to the game and cheer on the Vols. If you wanted to go to a school and not go to the games, I think Vandy is still accepting applications.

Thank you, you are what makes the University of Tennessee what it is, GREAT. We support our athletics and cheer for the players who made good decisions and give their all for Tennessee, not boo and miss games because a few idiots didn't. Thank you and Go Vols.

My twin brother and I will be there. I'm really looking forward to it, how often do we get to see our Vols play a #1 ranked team, at home no less?

Well if you're one of the few showing up, my message wasn't directed towards you. Thank you for showing some Vol pride and giving it your all. I'm talking to the ones who show up with 10:00 left in the first half and leave with 15:00 left in the second. Unacceptable.

First of all, past graduates complaining about current students game attendance gets tiring. Secondly, the other poster was talking about the "nerdization" of UTK. Since standards are being raised, less students are coming with the "lets get hammered and go to the game" mentality and more have the "i'll be at the library and then I will walk to the game" mentality. That's if they go to the game at all.

Watching the student section half-full and quiet the entire game, game after game, gets tiring.

The "nerdization" of UT is laughable. I made fun of Vandy in an earlier post, but their student section is killing ours. Stanford's is killing ours. Duke's is killing ours. UNC's is killing ours. Notre Dame's is killing ours. Need I go on? Quit making excuses and have some pride about your University's athletics.

Hey, don't attack me. I haven't missed a home football game since i've been here and I only missed 2-3 basketball games last year. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the Kansas game from Michigan. I was just clarifying what the other poster meant.

I really can't do anything about students not wanting to go to games, I can only make sure I make it to them myself...

What is a good price for a ticket off the street for the Kansas game, lower level?
