Kanter decision coming soon....

I have to respect cal's willingness to recruit the dangerous, fringe, lightning rod athletes if they can play.

Cal is just like any other mercenary, he does what he has to do, until he gets stopped. Cal's pocketbook, and maybe a quest for adulation, drives him. So far, he seems to have pushed the ethics envelope pretty far and gotten away with it.

Recruiting the one and done's was obviously going to affect Cal and UK in terms of depth at some point, I just didn't think it would be so soon.

I'm confused. Motivation born of a desire for financial gain and recognition for achievement are bad things?

I think deep down he has known it all along (Cal). The man is a risk taker, and he took a risk on beating the odds and getting Kanter eligible, Perhaps even for half a season in December like several are suggesting. The same risk that UW was apparently willing to take as well. Its easy for coaches who are no longer (or never were to begin with) to give that spill about eligibility.

It is what it is.

I guess Kanter was Calipari's last shot at a big man in the class? So worth a shot?

If Cal's the only guy who thinks Kanter's an amateur, I'd love to see the explanation as to why Lorenzo Romar recruited him right up until the day he signed with UK.

Jim Harrick taught Lorenzo Romar a thing or two about recruiting.
