wait until you see what they paid the pitcher they stole from Stanford... it's more than most schools' entire NIL budgets.

Hey I'm all for softball, but keep in mind were talking about a non revenue generating sport.

If it don't make dollars, then..........

Fitting that schools like this still end up empty in the end. It's not what college sports was meant to be. Just my $0.02 which could only buy a piece of bubble gum 35 years ago.

Let me add that a few of yall are going too far with the name calling. Think about your emotions - it's just softball.

I checked out their boards to see what they are saying on this- which led me to their football recruiting talk… they are in on so many 5 stars it’s ridiculous- the amount of $$ they are throwing around is just wild.

Their posters seem to have just started learning about sports when the money showed up.

Hey, let's give them some credit. They were good at sports when Sheryl Swoopes was there last century.

BTW, hopefully that will be put to an end by Congress even if they don't do anything else right.

That is correct whether some folks want to believe it or not. They are paying for wins and championships and not return on investment....When you have oil billionaires on board you best believe it. How long it continues is another question...The LIV Golf Tour Saudi money went away pretty quick.

As an LSU softball fan, I have only been lukewarm in my support for the LV softball team. Not wise, given the disparity between the teams, but fandom is rarely logical. This changed yesterday, as Texas Tech softball is truly the worst of many examples of NIL going amuck. They almost won the world series last year by offering their pitcher the most softball NIL ever, and then they followed this up by buying 7 all conference and 3 all American transfers with a hope of guaranteeing a national champion. I also don't like the vibe of their coach, how they seem to establish deals with players of other schools before the season is over, and now these comments by Taylor. I will be strongly cheering for the LVs the rest of the way, but if they play Tech again, I will be yelling loud enough to disturb the neighborhood!

The wins are their ROI.. they have enough money to not worry about if they get financial ROI. They will never have a big enough fan base to produce that.

Yeah wasn’t saying they have never had a team.. their posters just seem like a new kids on the block vibe .

Talking about the number 1 dl in the country they have no worry about powerhouse competitors- literally just saying we will double their bid and get him.

It's slimy but sadly it's what NIL and the transfer portal has created. Imo, it's not a move forward it's a move backwards. Almost no effective rules in place.

It's lil man disorder being one of the least accomplished major Texas programs.

I think they have a couple of boosters that love softball footing the financial part of it in anyway that is necessary. Last season and this one softball is getting any amount of support they ask for. I am hoping that they get put out today and their coach and money grubbing players and boosters can go home. Hopefully billionaire Cody Campbell won't be able to buy Championships.

Can't imagine Karen saying that to Pannell, just not realistic. CKW has brought consistency and excellence to the program. My one criticism is that she should've pulled Karlyn after 5 yesterday, and it would have never gone to extra innings. Karlyn was awesome through 5 but her pitch count was high and the ump missed several strikes. Was hard to adjust to a strike zone that he totally messed up.

Think about your emotions - it's just softball.
It's the principle, not a problem years ago, but Nationally on College stage at the World Series, both good and bad publicity.
You don't have to like Karen, but as a coach, you have to respect her, but it is quite obvious Pannell does not respect herself or the game.

Man, y’all would definitely hate me then, if I were a billionaire, oil tycoon.
