On the one hand, if there is anything to it Kavanaugh would probably just withdraw. So unless that happens its probably no big deal.

On the other hand, the people sending the letter to the FBI are putting themselves out there pretty far if there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

Oh I don't know - maybe I don't immediately assume people are morally unsound? She is a credible character witness which adds to the assessment.

I guess I should just be like you and assume anyone I disagree with is morally unsound. Oops! Guess that puts you on the list.

Normally I'd agree with this but the tactics to defeat him have gotten pretty extreme so I'm guessing the penalty for a frivolous referral are small and the base will reward them for it.

How morally sound do you think the congressmen asking him the questions are ? He’s not morally sound enough to sit in the bench but Kamala Harris is moral enough to be in congress ? 👀

Depends on what its for.

I'm reading two different things: sexual misconduct or laundering money through baseball tickets to pay gambling debts. If there is evidence of either one of those then I would think we would all agree its fair to ask about for a S. Ct. judge.

She can evaluate him on his legal rulings. She can evaluate his character as both professional and in non-work related situations.

The liberal part shows that while she disagrees with him ideologically she still respects him as a judge, legal professional and a person. Weird huh? She can see past ideological differences.

Laundering money through baseball tickets sounds more like: here are my seats behind homeplate since I lost the bet we had last week.

On the laundering/gambling thing his written answers explain the situation easily. Seem's Whitehouse's gambling "investigation" stems from an email where K. made some reference to his reactions to a dice game. That's it. No other evidence of any gambling at all. As for debts being reduced the timing of purchase of a block of season tickets and reimbursement from friends along with a pay raise, his wife going back to work, a back pay settlement and assistance from family are all legit.

IOW - there is no evidence that he's a gambler at all.

wondering what happens if/when Kavanaugh gets confirmed and the next one comes around. Will the Dems have shot their proverbial load? Can they honestly go thru this much effort again? I am imagining they are burning political capital pretty fast.
