Ain't gonna happen. Pigs don't fly. Interestingly, I heard this morning that it would take a $30,000 bet on Bama to win $100. That's how big a dog Butch and the boys are today. Ponderous.

I think a lot of the Ā“pro Butch folksĀ” you mention are not necessarily hardcore fans of his specifically but just anti-reactionary folks who feared the long term effects of quick emotional judgments that may ignore mitigating factors. But I think the games so far this year have tipped the balance for a lot of those people, and while they may not be ready to call for his head, theyĀ’re less inclined to argue the point.

As for beating Bama, if he does that I think it buys him the end of the season, partly because it looks bad on the AD to fire David while GoliathĀ’s body is still warm. If the team suddenly starts looking like world beaters and playing lights out, then maybe the light just went on and he finally figured it out, and he stays put. But if we go right back to what weĀ’ve been doing, heĀ’s done.

I agree with all of that. We're getting to a point in the season where people need to calm down. The difference between a midseason firing and end of the year is a matter of about 4 weeks. I'm not sure it matters that much.

I don't think that He should be fired this year. There have been people from day one that have complained. Even after beating uga 2 years in a row and uf last year. Butch, Bob, Brady etc haven't forgotten how to coach. What I will say this though, if he is fired this year I will bet anyone $10 grand that 5 years from now we will be in the same place for sure and firing another coach. You give the guy another year or hire either Nick Saban or Urban Myer.

You may as well ask if a meteor hits the stadium will it cancel the game...although a meteor strike has more probability. There is absolutely ZERO chance the vols win today. NONE. Its preposterous to even contemplate. Even if Saban suspended his 1st and 2nd team and we played their 3rd team...we still lose handily. There is NO CHANCE IN HELL we win today. NONE.

If he wins, he's staying put. To beat the number 1 team, an arch rival we've lost 10 in a row to? This is his last shot to keep this job IMO.

Won't happen though.

That would require one important fact that's missing (specifically with Jones) to be true.

As to the complaining. Maybe it was just more educated football fans that knew what they were seeing before others. Nothing wrong with that.

Jones doesn't want to be here anymore, he's figured it out (actually he knew it last year). He doesn't want another year, and UT shouldn't give him another even if he did.

41-0 loss at home, loss (again) to an incredibly mediocre SCar team missing 3 starting OLs and their best player (Samuel), no TDS in 2.5 games, and a 36 point underdog to Alabama.....in year 5.

But itĀ’s all good, nothing to see here, Jones is doing a fine job, no reason to make a change now according to QuickSmurf. Alrighty then.
