Keep winning, Vols. In the end it will help your chances with the NCAA.

it does not help BP at all.... just like the ncaa to smack a successful person back down into his rightful place (in their mind)

I just hope that Slive(and cronies) have not made a deal with the NCAA to sacrifice CBP in order to free AU and Cam for a shot at a championship and Heisman....? :eek:hmy:

I don't think the NCAA uses the rob Peter to pay Paul method.

Cam Newton will eventually be punished for this, but it will be after he is long gone from Auburn. The 'AA realizes it can take it's time, while still providing the country with the championship game it wants and still collect the money from it, then punish later.

If you think the AA doesn't play the favorites game you haven't been keeping up with sports very long. Jerry
Tarkanian once said " the ncaa is so mad at kentucky that they will put Creighton on two more years probation"

When Cam can afford to pay whatever price they ask???

Come on guys - These conspiracy theories are a little much IMHO.

I hear this stuff from the Bama Fans and it's hard to take. "They never call penalties on _____, We always get jobbed when we play at ______, and their favorite, UT will never get in trouble with the NCAA - they're protected !

EDIT - Sorry guys - I looked up and found my self in the Basketball forum when I was thinking Football -

So - In the immortal words of Rosanne Rosannadanna

Never Mind !

Here is what I have been thinking about. What happens if TN wins every game during the 8 game stretch that CBP has to sit out? Does the NCAA (we are now in June) look back and say "well, that wasn't much of a punishment"?

Apparently you don’t remember the Gafney phantom catch that beat us at home against Florida. I do think things happen from time to time with intent. Sometimes it’s bad luck. And yes it does seem like the Gators get most of the calls when we play them.

Conspiracy theories that Cam is going to be paying later on are silly. But, it wouldn't surprise me either if a ruling was not rushed, so that Auburn can play with Cam in the SEC and NCAA title games. If he is later ruled ineligible again, and Auburn is forced to forfeit, everybody who made money on Auburn and Oregon will still have it. Granted, the NCAA doesn't operate the BCS title game.

Fail. If you're going to quote someone, at least get it right. It was Cleveland State.

the more they win, the bigger the penalty. cam didn't get suspended because it would cost the sec to much money.

How exactly does the NCAA get paid off the BCS championship game?

so you don't think the powers that be of the ncaa receive money/kick backs from the crooked bowl presidents?
you should check out book, death to the bcs. that should open your eyes.
