Kellie Harper discussion/debate thread [merged]

She is not getting Sarah Strong. The other two are good players don't think either one is better than Brooks. She has recruited top ranked players in the last couple seasons none of them are playing very well. People seems to forget they are in 7th place and have the same record in conference as Tennessee. Plus why we talking about her she is not even a candidate here.
At this stage, yes both are further along than Brooks. Brooks is very raw, watch her film. She has all the tools and will likely get there, but right now she is ranked below those two justifiably imo. How much film have you watched on Brooks? As for Lawson, she actually reminds me of a younger Staley, and she is tracking as such compared to CDS’s early years.

That's way too many, for sure, but to be fair there are a ton more good teams and good players now. Pat would have been playing against alot of them, not stockpiling them on her bench.
Idk, I feel like she would’ve been the modern Dawn! Take one All American out, and in comes another.

Had she not gotten sick, I’ll never forget the 2013 class where we probably would’ve had the #1, 2, and 3 recruit in the country, in Russell, Davis, and DeShields. 🥹🥲 No telling who else DeShields would’ve recruited for us that year! 😂

I’ll maintain faith in AD White, Donde and Boyd, regardless of Kellie’s status as head coach. You do the program no favors with your consistently negative perspective.
Some seem to take the team's struggles almost as a personal offense. They're damn mad about it and we should be too! If not we're just too dumb to notice. The old victim mentality, as if something's being done to them.

For me it's been more disappointing than personally insulting. That's on me, I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.

Fan is short for fanatic. Unfortunately, this is one of the two most active wbb fan sites available* (assumed). It would be easy for this site to be used as a tool for negative recruiting.

If @mudcat1973 says Kellie will be back, book it.
JJUST said if Tennessee reaches sweet sixteen NCAA tournament
Think Kellie gets a raise and one add to her contact.
Tennessee volunteers gets eight or Nine Seed Tennessee more than likely loses to a one seed second round NCAA tournament. No raise.
Even if Tennessee lady Vols gets a Ten seed NCAA tournament that means beating a seven seed and two seed to get to Sweet Sixteen NCAA round. Kellie does that think Kellie has a good shot at a raise.
Answer coming soon.
For now Texas A&M university is a must win. If doesn't make NCAA tournament it would be hard for kellie to stay.

Negative recruiting? Heck we haven't been able to recruit well since Kellie arrived. I suppose it’s all because some people on this site write posts questioning her coaching ability. I think those are legit and the effect on recruiting is minimal.

Boneyard mods keep negative talk on a short lease on the boneyard
Going by site rules I have read there.
Not looked at that site in a while

I suppose the failure to recruit top tier recruits involves many variables to include coaching and in game decisions. My concern would be why add fuel to the fire?

Husband can alway serve in a non-bench/non-recruiting role. Nothing wrong with being an analyst behind the scenes when you have better options for the time without the optics.
That is why I said move on from her as even being discussed husband is a part of her coaching staff just like present situation and so not a valid place to even visit if not including him as on coaching staff.

In one Facebook lady group pages
Jordan Horston Mon talk about the negative talk on social media and message boards going by her posts she didn't like it.
Bet recruits and family look at Social Media sItes associated with a NCAA college basketball team.

Then cross quite a few of the bright young coaches off the list because wife/husband coaching teams are common now.

Here we go again. This is no different from limiting candidates to former LVs, or a certain gender. Why in the world would we limit ourselves over this? If the nepotism is ok w the university who the heck are we to care?

Never performance based, it's the "optics", the idea. Posters were singing a cantada to Fortier's qualifications until they found out her hubby was her assistant. Then boom, off the list. WTF? I'm so very sorry if some of ya'lls optics get insulted but for the love of God can we just hire the best coach this time?

Everyone's Mom should stay off social media and if they must look, they should never respond. 90% of parents of elite athlete learned to tune out armchair critics long ago. If it influences someone's decisions, the SEC is probably not the right level of play for them.

If you think social media madness is bad now, wait til they start getting paid big bucks. "Fans" tend to be much tougher on pros.

Jordan Horston Mon never talked about a direct person or post
She mostly talk about God.
And the players gave their all.
Seems like she didn't like Fan's saying players didn't give their Best effort.
Going to stop talking about this before I get in trouble talking about what people said.

No, she talked about the fans too...either on Twitter or Facebook. She had some whiny post talking about how hard it is for Jordan and the fans didn't deserve her. It's actually very easy to...I don't know...just not look at it? It's like they want the attention, but can't handle any negative comments or criticism. I wonder if Mom is still trying to be the Guardian Angel now that her daughter is a pro?

Tennessee has four assistant coaches but nobody talks about the two youngest assistant coaches.
How much influence do you see/think they have,,in game decisions...I have watched the sidelines enough to see,,,they are high-fivers and cheerleaders,,,not influences,,,and I have NOT seen one stand up and tap Kellie on the shoulder, leading into a called timeout

Just read a few of her posts
Said she didn't like fans talking about player's.
Never saw her call out a specific poster or post.
Like I said never read all her posts.
Mostly seen her posts in lady Vols Facebook groups
