The right thing is to challenge her to elevate and for Tess, Puckett and Striplin to elevate their game beyond what they are giving now. If they can’t, you play JP and go with youth and points. Those three need better production in the bigger games and not look the part beating up the bottom tier teams.

If Justine can move off of screens and shoot the three and even pump fake and pull up mid range I think that’s where she can take the next step, I actually saw her do that one time and she needs to be consistent with that.

hollie lost her players support. kellie long way from having allerican say something needs to change. do not think ad would fire anyone without runing it by his higher ups prisdent and board and the dean.

on facebook most blame refs . i agree tenn got short stick on calls. with key being sick and marta mother and abbly c said they recuits wanting to come but other teams out bid them. bet danny white and ut officals knows that. if tenn finishes 3nd or 4 sec there are in ncaa turnment. i say tenn would have get beat bad by sec mid pack teams to get the ax. fans stop coming has more pull than you are i or someother using nicknames nobody knows who they are.

It’s is interesting that you say, “other teams out bid them”. I wonder how much NIL money is going to our team vs what they can get at other schools. I think Coach Kellie once stated that was the #1 question recruits ask about. I don’t think you can complain about Coach Kellie’s if you are not making NIL donations. I guess it really isn’t my business how much they get but the busy body in me wants to know.

abby conklin said on facebook reply to fan tenn had recuits whho wanted to come but they lost them because of being out bid. she also said tenn needs more money not to lose recuits over it. i bet danny knows which players wanted more greenbacks.

I think its a legit question, esp for a public funded university. There's alot I don't know about NIL. Does the school contribute directly or is it just outside businesses and funds the school helps athletes hook up with?

I think each state has laws that affect NIL differently, but I don’t think schools can contribute in any state.

So school's role is to help set up outside groups who will contribute? So it's literally up to fans and wealthy supporters to pony up enough to get good players? So whoever has the richest guy who cares the most about the program gets the recruit?

Except Kellie was losing on the court and in the recruiting game before the NIL came to fruition. Just now it’s used as a revised excuse to soften the blow.

That is the way I understand it. Anyone else with any insight please chime in. I know the lady who owns Orange Mountain Designs in Knoxville has revived the Boost Her Club in an attempt to raise NIL money exclusively for the Lady Vols. It’s just basketball right now, but the website says they hope to include all Lady Vol sports by the end of this year.

I believe SPYRE has deals with some athletes in all sports. I read several months ago about some LadyVols attending a function through SPRYE and apparently have deals with them.
Yes, it appears the ”NIL collectives” with the most money is having a big impact on players, especially football but it probably varies by school. A ”collective” that supports Indiana probably funnels more money toward the basketball program.
I think it varies by state but the NCAA has stated that schools are not to be “directly” involved with NIL but the collectives know which recruits the school has offered, want, etc.. Alabama athletic facilities even has a section set up for NIL. I don’t know if the just counsel athletes about tax issues or review contracts or what happens there.
We now have a Freshman QB that allegedly has an 8 million 4 year deal to come here.
Miami collective apparently signed a QB to a 6 million dollar up front deal but then the Florida collective decided they wanted him so agreed to payoff the Miami 6 million dollars and gave him an additional 7 million so he flipped to Florida. The collective then decided it was to rich for them so now it is a big mess and he is got out of his LOI.

IMO, the coach/staff use to be responsible for getting the recruits but now with NIL the fans through their donations are becoming much more responsible for acquiring top recruits.

abby helping with that boast . football is going to get most of nil money on rocky top. unconn and south caroline and other schools were football is not #1 by long shot on getting nil money. easyer to get money for women basketball.

See Texas AM football for the 2021. Didnt get the ROI on the field and a few of those kids already hit the portal.
