It says the Frank Wilson wasn't his recruiter but you think he'd have to have something to do with this.

I've only heard good things about this guy. Apparently he's like a less injury prone Hardesty. He comes in, hits the hole hard, and just gets upfield.

He committed to So. Miss. the same day FW was announced at UT. 6 days later, we are getting a visit....DO WORK COACHES.....DO WORK.

"I have really worked hard on trying to get quicker and faster. I am cutting better. I am a down hill runner and I just want to work on all phases of my game."

According to Hardy he has scholarship offers from five schools – Southern Miss, Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama, and Mississippi State.

"Really, I like them all and I am open.

"I like how Ole Miss talks to me. I feel comfortable with those coaches and I know they will run a lot.

"I went down to Southern Miss and I liked it down there. I like coach (Larry) Fedora and I feel good about them.

"At Mississippi State I like how I would ft in.

"I have not had a chance to see Auburn and Alabama. I will try and check out this summer. I would like to camp at both schools.

"I am looking to find a place where I feel real comfortable. I will also be checking out the campuses and the school environment."

"We had a lot of turnovers," added a dejected Kendrick Hardy. "We lost to Petal 27-14. Hopefully we got everything straight in practice this week and we play well against North Pike."

As bad it felt to lose the season opener, Hardy perked up Sunday morning when he got his first college recruiting call.

"Coaches Kim Dameron and Nutt called me first thing Sunday morning. They said they wanted to be the first school to call me, and they were (laugh). They asked me about my game and told me about theirs. They were just asking how I am doing and am I staying in shape."

Hardy has had a long lasting relationship with Ole Miss assistants, Derrick and Tyrone Nix, due to them being at USM when his older brother played there.

"Coach Nix recruited and coached my brother. I do have that comfort level with them, but more than anything, they just show me they care by doing the little things. They have been recruiting me the hardest from the start."

Hardy now holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, MSU, USM, and Tulane, but surpringly, would like to hear from some of the SWAC teams.

"I am hoping some of the SWAC schools would offer me, like JSU or Alcorn."

What interest Kendrick about the SWAC?

"Nothing really, I just hoping they would offer me a scholarship."

Does Hardy have any future plans to attend any college games?

"No sir, I am just concentrating on turning my team around right now."

When it does come decision time; what will be the main factors?

"I am just looking

"All three of us rushed for over a 1, 000 yards this year," added Kendrick Hardy. "Matthew Wells had a great year too. All of us did. I finished the season with 1, 762 yards and 17 TD's."

Hardy turned his focus to finding his school of choice after his season was over. He headed up to Oxford for his third game this season to watch the Egg Bowl.

"My father came with me this time. I liked it a lot. I did not think they would beat them that bad."

What was Hardy keying in on during the game?

"I wanted to see how much the ran the ball. I like how they look. I like the plays they run. I like how they give the ball to all of their running backs and not just one. That gives everyone a chance to show what they can do. I do not mind sharing the ball. I have done it my career here, so it is no big deal. I also like their staff a lot. We have become pretty close through this (recruiting) process."

The Rebels tried to continue the momentum they have built with Hardy with an inhome visit on Tuesday.

"Coach (Kim) Dameron came by the house. He was talking about their academic facilities and the staff in general. We sat down and watched a highlight tape. That was cool."

What was Ole Miss' main selling point?
"My education. They are going to make sure I get my education."

Hardy followed that inhome visit with a scheduled official visit to Ole Miss this weekend.

"I am going to Ole Miss this weekend. That is the only one I have set up so far."

Any chance Kendrick could commit over the weekend?

"I do not know yet, but I might. It is going in that direction."

Anybody else lined up to visit Scout.com's #45 nationally rated RB this week?

"USM is coming by my house Thursday. Oregon is coming down here to see me soon. Pretty much all the rest of the schools who have been recruiting me just fired their coaches, so I do not know what is going to happen with them."

Kendrick Hardy has elected to spend his college days close to home. Earlier this month, Hardy narrowed his choices down to two schools, Ole Miss and Southern Miss. After taking a pair of official visits and some time to think things through, Hardy has made the call.
Kendrick Hardy profile "I committed to Southern Miss last night," said Hardy. "I called and talked to Coach Anderson and Coach Hughes. They were excited."
Hardy held offers from around the southeast including four SEC offers, but he believed Hattiesburg was the best destination for him long term.
"I just felt was best for my career," said Kendrick. "They have good coaching there and I think I can be a better player. They have a good program and they are winning."
With his college destination now determined, Hardy reports that his recruitment is now over.
"I am done," said Kendrick. "I am relieved. I am glad it's all over. My family is relived too. They can come see me play, so they are happy with my decision."
Hardy will now turn his attention towards the spring sports and his preparations for the 2009 football season.
"I am going to run track," said Kendrick of his spring plans. "I am going to be lifting weights and everything to get ready for the season after that."
