Hopefully his initial contract which guaranteed $4.9M isn’t the best contract he gets in his pro career. Memphis wants to win now and apparently doesn’t want to be patient while KC develops. While the sample size in NBA and G-league has been limited, his 3 pt FG% and FT% has in a word has been atrocious. He has to improve that or he may need to head overseas.

Idk how much of y’all watch the Grizz, but he was absolutely awful. Recently played solid minutes vs the Clippers when most of the starters were out and was a total liability. I’m talking tripping over nothing, turnovers, shots blocked…really bad. I was excited when he went in but it was sooooo bad

13 minutes 2-3fg,2rb,3ast,1st, and 1 turnover is bad huh?

Even overseas, if you are only 6'1" ... you better have a great jump shot. He doesn't.

Good, I can go back to despising them again. Seriously though, I think this ends up being good for him, even when Morant was out he didn't see the court much, if any. Even in games that were blowouts, he rarely got PT. Hopefully he can find a team where he can get a shot in the next year or so to get some minutes. I know he is making big money, but all I can think about is what may have been if he stayed.

His actual height is closer to 5’11”

Schools tend to exaggerate these things

and ZZ is not 5’9” either - I’m 5’8” and almost certain he’s shorter than me, lol.
You're right about ZZ. I have a picture with him standing next to my 13 year old daughter, who is 5'9. He is likely 5'7, maaaybe 5'8 but doubtful. I usually will take 2 inches off the height of every player from the height UT lists them as. just as Lofton wasn't 6'2. Doesn't matter to be, they kill/ killed it here, no matter the height.

He signed for $5 million guaranteed. It was a number’s crunch because the Grizzlies needed to sign a big guy after Adams has been declared out for the post season. A little surprising, but I’m sure he will find another team. He’s doing ok.

Financially is the best thing that could happen to him weirdly. He has all that guaranteed money, only had to play a year and now gets another contract.

The Adams part was released after he was waived. Who's to say they already knew but crazy he was signed to the largest guaranteed deal for a second rounder and released before a full season!

If he clears waivers he can sign as a free agent. If he gets picked up off waivers he will play for his current contract. If neither happen, the Grizzlies owe him 1.7 million next year and 2 million the year after. He's done great for himself If he never played another second.

He was let go for Kenneth Lofton, whom it seems like we wanted in the portal or recruited. But I can't remember for sure.

ZZ is about 5’7 maybe 5’8 max, but not 5’9.

Lofton is 6’2”. I’m 6’1” and this was taken at his number retirement vs UK this January. 1681036288893.jpeg
