You should really get out from under that rock from time to time.
I guess you're referring to some of the junk put out by the Washington Post. To each their own but Morant wasn't charged with anything, no crimes committed, etc. Yes, some very dumb decisions by a young man with more money than he knows what to do with but nothing that warranted an arrest or anything of that nature. Guess I'll go crawl back under my rock now...

He signed for $5 million guaranteed. It was a number’s crunch because the Grizzlies needed to sign a big guy after Adams has been declared out for the post season. A little surprising, but I’m sure he will find another team. He’s doing ok.
Grizzlies wasted money

If he clears waivers he can sign as a free agent. If he gets picked up off waivers he will play for his current contract. If neither happen, the Grizzlies owe him 1.7 million next year and 2 million the year after. He's done great for himself If he never played another second.

He was let go for Kenneth Lofton, whom it seems like we wanted in the portal or recruited. But I can't remember for sure.

He signed a $5mill deal which he will end up with a little over half after everyone gets their cut. How does that compare to college with NIL deals?

The college deal would have been significantly less, not guaranteed if something happened and he didn't play the next two years, and people would have still gotten their cut. Plus he spent a year getting NBA coaching/development. All those are >>>>> than college.

Why? He can come back now and get his degree with 5M in the bank. He made a great decision.

Stay in college kids!
No he did the right thing. College will always be an option for him but a shot at making money in the NBA won't.

Even if he came out of college making 100K a year with a degree. It would take him 50 years to make what he did in one.

This always makes me laugh.

Look I'm glad I got my degree, but if after my freshman year I was offered a job in what I was going to do making way, way more than I'd probably make after 20+ years of being in the field but I had to do it now full-time and leave school, I would have done it in a heartbeat. If I wasn't an idiot with my money I could easily go back later and finish it up.

The Adams part was released after he was waived. Who's to say they already knew but crazy he was signed to the largest guaranteed deal for a second rounder and released before a full season!

Chandler was released because the Grizzlies needed a big body since both Adams and Clarke are out. Kenny Lofton was on a two-way and ineligible for the playoffs so the Grizzlies signed him, which meant they needed to create a roster spot. Chandler was let go for that reason. It doesn’t matter which news item you read first, it’s all related.

At that size he needs a floater, good D, 45% FG and 38+% 3PFG. That's a lot to ask of any 1 and done. He also needs to probably run the point. Never had a chance really.
