Kenny Hall - Missed Dunks In Four Straight Games

Missing dunks has to do with either not having enough elevation or trajectory of the ball. There are times when a finger roll will suffice. With Hall its a personal choice, on a dunk he can stand under the basket and scream, on a finger he gets the same amount of points, but, not the finger pointing a dunk creates. He needs to learn when his elevation is short and just lay it in. You can be the club sometimes, but, there are times when you need to just be the rapier.

He has no problem dunking, this guy could dunk 1,000 times in a row without missing. he just tries to make it a highlight dunk instead of just using 2 hands and making the easy play.

I've watched him since he has been here and if you look at tapes of his missed dunks you will see what I am talking about. A hard hip brush or other contact can cost a player elevation or a miss calculating the distance to the goal can rob him of elevation.

I'm not trashing Hall just pointing out what could help him. I'm on his side.

On all these dunks he missed recently there was no hip brush. One of them his arm got hacked, another the ball was blocked slightly, and the other two he just tried to slam it too hard. Hell Vince carter has done it before, you try to slam it too hard and you hit the back iron lost of times. As I said go up 2 hands like he did against Uconn if someone bumps you and causes you to not get the election to dunk jut drop it in with 2 hands, simple enough.

That's all I was saying, there are times to throw it down hard and there are times when a little finesse is in order.

Rather see him missing dunks than his previous lethargic self.
I'll give him a break because he's trying.

I'm with you. I've thought on many occasions that he went up too soft, so going for the jam every time is a definite improvement. (Also, on 3 of the four misses, there could easily have been fouls called. Not saying there should have been, just that there reasonably could have been.)
