Kenny Rogers...cheater?

I find it quite interesting that the man has been absolutely lights out this postseason and has had 'dirt' on his hand in each of the three games.

He cheated for sure in the 1st inning of Game 2 of the WS and the previous playoff games.

Too bad LaRussa didn't make something out of it. He must cherish friendship more than his own team.

Rogers has been and always will be a jerk, a cheat, and a madman. I wish they could suspend him for this, because it's blatant cheating.

St. Louis would be up 2-0 heading back to Busch Stadium had Palermo actually inspected Roger's hand in the first inning.

all pitchers use pine tar to grip the ball in the cold weather. if you think Rogers is the only guy who has been cheating or has done that, think again.

If you aint cheating you aint trying!

Its only cheating if you get caught!

He may have cheated in the first inning last night... but what about the 7 innings after that. St. Louis still couldn't touch him.

I cant help but laugh at this, every pitcher has done it at some point. With all the needles in the locker room, Fox stirs the hornets nest about this?

Needles? Try cream....no one doesn't think it's odd that all of the players are rubbing each other down before the games?

I'm not sure I saw anybody insinuate that Rogers has been the only one. If everybody does it, then everybody is cheating.

It's just a shame that La Russa didn't have the umpires inspect his hand in the 1st inning. Rogers would've been ejected and suspeded for the rest of the series if it was indeed pine tar. IMO, it does not look like "a clump of dirt" at all. Wouldn't a pitcher notice dirt, or mud, on his pitching hand? Rogers is a cheater and a liar... but that's just my Cardinals bias opinion.

Cheating is one thing...lying is another...but getting caught lying about cheating...bad...just bad.

Will Kenny have the testicular fortitude to walk back on the mound in this series if it goes that far with the shiny clump of dirt on his hand?

Pitchers scraping, scuffing, loading, filing, etc is part of the charm of baseball.

My personal favorite was Gaylord Perry wearing a cross around his neck that would sometimes come out from under his shirt. He had to put the cross back in his shirt since you're not allowed to pitch with dangling jewelry . . . . The cross was coated with vaseline.
