All the UK fans I know of are either in jail or live in dilapidated meth houses eating roadkill off the highway.

Find me some articles about our fans fighting in a dialysis clinic or offering up sex from their wife in exchange for tickets. Both fanbases have their share of jackasses. It just seems those who cheer for Kentucky go bigger than everyone else.

Every fanbase has idiots. You're surrounded by a bunch every time you log in. Most are nice, sensible people on here, but there are quite a few ones that go a little overboard sometimes.

Duke/North Carolina probably isn't bigger based on the fact that the Duke fan base is so small and generally pathetic. Bandwagoners probably make up over half of their following - and those guys aren't attending games regularly. As small as their arena is - they still don't manage to have a full house except against UNC and other big games.

It just depends on what your metrics for rating rivalries are.

Aside from bandwagoners, UNC/Duke is not just a rivalry that exists between people who go to the games.

This is 100% correct - I think UofL UK is a great rivalry that no one outside the state knows about - if both teams were consistently better it would be better known...at least that might change after this week.

You are 100% correct...if the rivalry was better and people cared more outside of Kentucky, then yes it would be the biggest rivalry.

If Kentucky didn't lose 26 in a row to UT, and was better at football, then that could maybe be the biggest rivalry.

It might be better known if the teams didn't take 20 plus years off from playing the game. Why did it take so long for the game to become annual again?
