So according to you Hurd is 3rd no matter a good/bad offensive line? You think they have no affect on a running backs ability to succeed?
Hurd played extremely well with one of our worst O-Lines in the SEC so that should tell you something. Could you imagine what he can do with a more better and experienced O-Line? He's already shown what he's capable of doing. He's only going to get better, that's the scary part.
Fair enough. I'm just wondering what would be the visible difference in 3rd with a good Oline, and 3rd with a bad Oline. But it makes sense.
His physical gifts are probably right up there in nation as far as running backs go. He's what, 6'2 or 6'3 and 220+? Crazy.
6'3 and 225 pounds. Also, when comparing JoJo Kemp (Who was mentioned in this thread) to Jalen Hurd, it's kind of an unfair comparison. Both are different types of backs. Hurd is more of the "bruiser back" who can run between the tackles and gain yards when he needs too. Kemp is more of a "scat back" whose dangerous in space and who can use his speed to gain necessary yards. Of course Kemp is like 5'9, 190+ pounds and Hurd is 6'3, 225 pounds so that makes a difference in both of those backs as well. Put it this way, both are great backs while Hurd is the better back so far. Both should be improved though next season.
How could he be top nine and he doesn't even get the majority of the carries for uk? I'm just wondering
Disagree. Like McCat said, with the same tools around him as what other backs have, he's potentially a top 5 back.
I don't understand the draw of reporting what opposing fans are saying elsewhere. The last thing you'll ever hear me say is, "Guess what they're saying at VolNation?"
