Kentucky has egg on their face right now....

UK just loves those opponents with losing records. I think last night was the second in a string of four straight games against teams below .500.

I have never seen a team consistently bring its A+ game to the table when playing against the worst teams in D-1 as well as UK is this year.

EDIT: After Texas beats Appy State next week, UK's last four opponents and their next two opponents will all be below .500. That's some impressive scheduling.

In related news, Belmont beat the team UK smoked last night, Tennessee State, 91-63 on the road earlier this season. It's always better to look impressive against cupcakes than not, but I call UK's recent play nothing but fool's good and stat padding.

playing that tough early season schedule like Clemson always does huh?:)

Belmont is a pretty solid team.

UK basketball fans and UAF football fans are in the same boat. They are both getting exactly what they deserve in the W-L columns.

Meeks has gone off the past two games - more than normal.. he actually shot a good % to justify taking that many shots. It was against some pretty crappy competition - but still - we're going to split with these guys.

Even as bad as we are, a split with UK would be a terrible disappointment.

Well - then get ready for a terrible disappointment. As good as we were last year, we split with a team that lost to San Diego State and Gardner Webb... and had one of their worst losses ever to Vandy... and they nearly swept us.

That melt down at Rupp was very disappointing last season - I didn't expect to lose to them. And I don't expect this team to lose to UK this season. It will take some great feat like last year in Rupp for them to win. UK is flat out bad.

OK. :) I guess playing North Carolina on their home court is part of that all-cupcake schedule, huh?

Belmont.

Meeks is a scoring machine of late, 46 and 33 in the last two games. Patterson scored 32 last night, too.

Kentucky doesn't play a cupcake schedule... but it doesn't help that Indiana sucks... and that WVU isn't so great. But wouldn't laugh at Belmont.. they'd beat any of the cupcakes on UK's schedule and maybe even UK if they shot well from downtown like they did against UT (atleast in the first half).

Also Kansas State is pretty average... so you got UNC... Miami... and an O.K. WVU team... not sure how good UL is after the Minnesota loss... maybe Minnesota is really good this year (obviously improved - but how good?).

Meanwhile, we're playing Georgetown, Gonzaga (x2), Marquette, Kansas, and Memphis.

And, I don't see UK travelling to an in-state opponent besides UofL anytime soon.

UNC is one of just three ranked opponents on UK's OOC schedule - not much for an "elite" program. UT will play up to six.

I was referring to the long string of below .500 cupcakes UK is playing right now. At this point, they have to reach to the absolute bottom to find a guaranteed win. I doubt they'll ever again face a decent opponent in the Freedom Hall home game while Billy G is in charge.

Still waiting on that UK-WKU series. UofL played them.

Oh, and, Belmont 91, @Tennessee State 63.

I spoke too soon.
Nice performance from 4-9 FAU.

Judging from your obsession for UK, I can only assume that Rick Pitino turned you off to the Cats when he didn't have time to sign your autograph book back in '93.

He signed something in '94 when he visited my high school. I have no idea what he signed or where it is.
