Kentucky to have two arenas?!?!

With the NCAA cracking down on paying players and extra benefits, Kentucky now has extra cash to do these kinds of things.

When it comes to basketball, Kentucky's wallet is like the black hole. It never ends. They will shell out MILLIONS on that program. I think it's just a matter of time (The first time the UK president and Cal walk into the new Louisville Arena and see that they don't have the nicest in the state anymore) before they plan an new arena. It has been in the groundworks for years but I think it'll really gain some steam now.

The last I had heard I thought one of the inner-city churches was looking to buy it?

I'm pretty sure UofL has never owned Freedom Hall. If UK's annual game is the only basketball game that will be played there going forward, then this makes sense. If other games, such as the Derby Classic High School All-Star game or High School playoff games will be played there, then I will be at least a little surprised that UK would be allowed to have its name on the floor permanently.
