Kentucky vs Missouri - Live Game Thread

I mean, whoever was winning the SEC east this year was going to do it because they had the right oppenents at the right time. Mizzou has gotten some bad games from UF, USCjr, and UK. They're decent, but no sec champs.

SEC east is nuts this year. GA pounds Mizzou 34-0 at Mizzou. Mizzou pounds Fla 42-13 at Fla. Then Fla beats Ga handily. Crazy year.

They scored three touchdowns against SC in the fourth quarter.

Just think...if UT had just ONE good offensive lineman, we may contend for the east this year

Mauk taking care of the ball so well was the big problem. Our defense didn't create anything really.

How the **** does Mizzou manage to luck themselves into a possible east title two years in a row??? They're not world beaters by any metric, yet somehow they win just enough

Not sure how serious about last year, but yeah, definitely this season, at the moment.

That said, they still have 3 conference games left, so not time to crown them yet.

If UGA doesn't lose to Auburn though, then there's not much room for error on Missouri's end either.

Yeah but they don't exactly have Murderer's Row coming up.

Georgia didn't "create" a whole lot either.

I mean, the first two picks were receivers bobbling or knocking them into the air; two of the picks were thrown right to the DBs I guess.

I'm mostly talking about Mauk himself. Had he not ran the ball, they might not have scored in the first half.

Nope. Would still be Toledo, UCF, and even Indiana.

Probably his best numbers conference wise this year though.

From time to time he's felt a fair amount of it. But he's missed a few easy throws that have caused punts.

Looks like it was mainly line play:

The play by Missouri’s defensive line. Nothing came easy for Kentucky’s offense in this one, due in large part to Missouri’s dominance along the line of scrimmage. Patrick Towles was uncomfortable in the pocket all game, completing just 18 of 35 passes for 151 yards one week after throwing for 390 yards against No. 1 Mississippi State. Kentucky’s run game wasn’t any better, rushing for a mere 113 yards at just 3.4 yards per carry. Shane Ray extended his SEC-leading sack total and set a new school record for sacks in a season in the process, and Missouri limited Kentucky to just three points for most of the game as the Tigers’ defense dominated from start to finish.

Ray is the man, and for good reason after breaking Missouri’s school record for sacks in a season. The star defensive end had 3.5 sacks in the win over Kentucky, bringing his total to 12 in nine games this year. Ray and his fellow defensive linemen controlled the line of scrimmage on virtually every snap, and the line was the biggest reason Missouri was able to win this game. Ray has been the man all year, and he soared to his single-season milestone as his team overtook first place in the division standings.
