My God, we will never guard the 3. The Rupp record for 3's by one person was set Monday night. Its about to be broken again tonight. 12 team 3's in the game, I think 6 or 7 of them are by one guard. Watching Calipari drop F bombs on everyone at the foul line was priceless.

At least the offense is clicking. Cousins is beastly.

53-42 at half.

Edit: Correction. The Almond kid has 8 three's at half. 8.

Bob Marlin is a really good coach. SHSU might well win their league. I'm amazed at the number of people who are acting as if Kentucky has had some problems against Presbyterian and Centenary the last two games.

Yeah, I seen his record and resume so to speak. Good coach, and good team. The almond kid was in the top 15 in the nation last year in 3 point shooting, if I'm not mistaken. Team also starting 3 seniors and 2 juniors, which is a decent anecdote against a freshman laden team.

The problem is that were really not getting back in transition defense. Almost every three came wide open with UK players trying to get down the floor. Also, absolutely zero communication on ball screens. Its sort of the "its not my man, not my problem" mentality. Once you let a team with shooters get rolling, then its hard to stop.

On the flipside though, I am very impressed with the offense compared to monday night. Miller is filling it up since Cal changed his shot, and Cousins is on pace for 30/20 if it keeps up.

I see much more conditioning and defensive drills in the near future.

We are also 8-13 from three. So far exceeding expectations in that area, although against inferior defense.

I've found anecdotes and pithy quips to be way overrated.

Agreed..it will take awhile with this team, but I say by the time camp cal is over, these guys will look like pros compared to the way they look now.

I recognize the jab.... and I almost choked from laughing. We are now using his name as an adjective.


Eric Bledsoe just pinned somebody's stuff on the board and lodged it between the rim and backboard. That was neat.


Almond is up to 10 three's now.

Bledsoe is a hell of an athlete, but no way in heck he can guard 6'5-6'7 two's around the country consistently. Especially if they have any shot at all

I sometimes think I would rather have the shooter out there, in Dodson. Yet, Calipari remains convinced that Bledsoe/Wall are his two best players, and must play them together. Dodson is taller and longer on the defensive end, and has a scorers mentality like Bledsoe. Yet Dodson is not even playing this game because he is in the doghouse, according to Cal.

I'm kind of torn, but I believe later in the season that the Wall/Bledsoe combination will pay off.

Side note, bledsoe is something like 3-5 from three tonight. Didn't really expect that.
