Every time I see John Wall hit the goal post with his head, or dive over the scorers table, I cringe with disbelief.

Zero bench points and another person lit Kentucky up at the 3? Why do Kentucky fans always bash UT for not playing defense when everyone gets career highs in Rupp? If I try and discuss that with a UK fan, he'll say something about Jodie Meeks but wow! Seriously, why can they not guard the perimeter?

Its a question that has no real answer, IMO. This problem dates back far beyond this season. Far beyond Gillispie, even. I know it sounds off base, but every year when the "cupcake" teams show up at Rupp, they throw caution to the wind. The come out desperate, and we tend to be dead and flat. Give them some momentum, and then from that point on they play the biggest games of their lives. Not just this team, its happened with some of the great Tubby teams.
Its like Rupp has this mysterious power.

As for the defense thing, Kentucky's defense was statistically and visually better than UT's last year. Thats not a slap, just the truth. However so far this year, we haven't played the slightest inking of defense. New coach, new system, yada yada it takes time. Personally from what I've seen, its all about effort. These guys are to freakishly athletic to be great on O but suck on defense. That should change.

As for the bench points, a couple other people have pointed that out too. Darnell Dodson and Harrellson did not play tonight, due to doghouse issues. Hood has been out for 2 games with wrist injury, and Orton pretty much had to sit back and watch Cousins do his thing. Its odd to have ZERO points, but thats normally not the case. Dodson/Orton specifically have been kicking in significantly.
