I was going to say they should have gone with Kroger Field at Commonwealth Stadium but the field is already named after C.M. Newton.
Why not Kroger Commonwealth Stadium?
What's the difference really between naming a field after a corporation vs naming it after a large donor?
I was looking around to see how much the General donated to UT, but couldn't find anything. The name Neyland Stadium means a lot to me. Pilot or Haslam or Walmart stadium, not so much. I'm curious to see if UT follows up on this and how big their greed is if it happens.
Just give the stadium a nickname like we did.
Who the hell wants to say Ben Hill Griffin-Steve Spurrier Stadium at Florida Field? It's The Swamp.
UK students should start a petition to rename it The Cathouse.

Their AD has said they won't mess with Rupp.
It's a win win, Kroger gets the marketing and the fans get free bags to put over their heads.
Yeah, sometimes it's a choice to honor someone for being a good guy, but often it's a payoff for a big donation. The field inside Neyland Stadium is a prime example.Naming it after a donor is done by choice. Naming it after a corporation is negotiated.
