Kevin O'Neil wants to bring Kiffin with him during the USC game

More than half joking...not taking a jab at UT at all. Pretty funny if you ask me.

That being said, we'll stomp USC in to the ground.

O'Neill's still funny.

I'm not sure why he's getting hate here. He took a program that was buried in the compost pile and at least restored hope that we would one day become relevant again.

because people love to hate coaches they only heard about who were not very successful (even though they had less talent than local HS teams when he took over).

I personally witnessed many of his games and I still don't like him as a coach. Yeah, he had the equivalent of a South-Doyle High School team when he got here, but he has never really done much anywhere he has been.

Based solely on his performance at each HC job, he's vastly overrated for the jobs he has received.

I follow UT B-ball but don't know the USC coach, but you hit the nail on the head with that comment. He and Kiffin sound like 2 peas in a pod. Just hearing kiffin's name makes me sick.:bad:

You must have been following basketball for a short period of time if you don't know the USC coach. He was coach for the team you follow.

oneil is funny but they can bring their own mattresses

This, Kiffin will have good luck finding a room in town. I'm sure there is some rich USC supporter living in our Beautiful city that would let Kiffin stay at his home that would more than likely get sodimized. (SP?)

He had more success than Wade Houston, but it was frustrating to watch us win games 45-42.
It sure beat losing games 101-40.

Kevin O'Neill was a long time ago, though. He's got bigger problems at U$C than what kind of reception he'll get in Knoxville when he's been gone for more than a decade.

There are people here who have and will argue that bald ball of anger is a better coach than Bruce Pearl.

They loved winning 50 to 46 and stylistically prefer that to winning 90 to 86. They also would enjoy watching a Wisconsin game in person....different strokes...

Yep, sure loved all those 90-86 games in the Elite eight run last year.

Gotta love KO.
I'm utterly amazed at the people who see this as anything but Kevin having some fun with folks. People wonder why our fanbase consistently gets portrayed as a bunch of inept hicks? Go listen to the archives of Knoxville sports radio today and note the utter stupidity of the callers. That's a compelling Exhibit 1.

I do agree with MHF that most big10 games live are hard to handle. Hell, I can't watch one on TV and stay awake. Its rather boring, and

I wish we lived in a place where no idiots called in sports radio shows....a brilliant place like Xanadu....people would be so smart they would head in pro se and ask for reckless driving on a first offense and get it

You're not really trying to argue that point are you? We fired him, and have been better off ever since. / Argument.

Tennessee didn't fire Kevin O'Neill. It's amazing to me how little people who claim to be UT basketball fans know about their program's history.

Surely you're not so amazed at this late date. There's always going to be a bunch of blowhards making a point they don't understand.

If they don't understand, that's one thing. That can be remedied. However, trying to make a point that doesn't exist is a whole other matter.
