Kevin Simon spent some time with CBJ in Sept while doing a Cowboys scouting visit. Just some tidbits from the interview:

-Talked to him and said CBJ’s eyes lit up when discussing UT
-CBJ said if the job came open it’s the job he wants
- Upbeat tempo and energy on practice field
- Hands-on coaching every position. Takes ownership
- Using microphone to communicate with entire team during practice
- No secrets, every player knows where they stand
- UT needs leadership from the top and CBJ will bring that
- Great communicator and should be good for UT

I thought he said he wasnt a micromanager

it wasn't so much that he's personally coaching every player on technique but more that he is always watching and holding every player accountable. That's where the microphone comes in to play so he could call out a loafer from across the field

Nope, a micromanager is when you try to control your employees enough to where they can't do their job. Hands on means he just wants to coach players, but he's going to let his coaches coach.

EA's comments on former players was funny too. He said he could give CBJ a list of numbers if he wanted but there were only a couple of warnings

1) Peyton calls you
2) Al Wilson will just show up and kick the door down.

the Al part had me rolling because I could just see it happening

This hire reminds me of how the Bruce Pearl hire felt/went.

Hope it has same results...minus the BBQ.:good!:

can someone actually post Jay-bay's name. No one seems to know who exactly this character is, including me

Thanks for sharing, PJ. I'm starting to feel better about this hire. The DC slot still worries me. Huge decision.
