Like I've said from the beginning.. I'm not gonna judge Steele on his defense in that game. We lost to Kentucky for gods sake. WV is a good team, and complicated offense. Tis could have happened to anybody. All coaches take a beat down every now and then.

Also, you can't say that a Big East school beat a ACC school and make it a big deal IMO. The ACC isn't very good either.

All in all, I take Steele period. Especially if Shannon isn't coming. We have some talent on D, and more coming and Steele could do special things. I say Sunseri at LB coach with a big raise, and name him co d coord with Steele. That could work, being all these guys are extremely familiar with each other. Thoughts?

I don't see the problem if he were to come to UT. He had a bad showing against WVU and now everyone thinks he is terrible, come on people. I remember when Chavis was still here there were plenty of games his D have up 40 plus. I know 40 isnt 70, but one bad game from a defense shouldnt destroy someone credibility. I would take him over Green and be happy about it.

I don't think Chavis is all that great either.

The problem with Steele is that his D's have a lot of talent but aren't showing it.

Chavis at least doesn't get in the way of his own talent advantages.

You hit the nail on the head with Chavis, yesterday. It takes him 6 months to make adjustments. For all the years that Chavis saved CPF's bacon, the biggest let down was the 2001 championship game when Saban worked him over with a 2nd string QB.

Saban knew what was going to happen on Monday night, because he had done it before. Just change tendencies and watch it unfold.

Or a 2nd string QB in the 2007 SECCG with Miles as the HC.
