What happened? He was a 5 star ranked like #22 now he dropped to 4 stars and rank #56. Did he get hurt or does anyone know?

Pretty drastic drop.

Oh well go vols!

He didn't committ to Coach Cal. Thats an automatic loss of 1 star and 20 point position loss.

Cal can spot talant, he just cant coach or develope it.

I'll take this over Bruce getting a commitment from a less-thought-of player who then sees his ranking spike and starts getting calls from all the blue blood schools.

Truth. Since stars are an indication of ability to contribute immediately, and not overall talent or ability, its not a big deal. If he had to play asap, a tad bigger deal. BUT.....He doesn't.......so.....no biggy.

It's that conspiracy thing again, everybody write Rivals and threaten to boycott if they don't stop with their ESPN-level hate.

He had a bad spring, but he is going to get better. He was used to playing PG, but at 6'4 he is learning how to play off the ball. On a positive note, Chris Jones made a huge jump and is up to #27, 2 spots from 5-star

Ware's offensive game has not grown as fast at expected based on his athletic ability. That is the reason for the drop. He is making the transition to off-guard and his shooting ability is not at the level it needs to be at to be ranked as high as he was. He is still a tremendously talented athlete with tons of potential. He just has some to sharpen his skills.

Guys,
Kevin Ware is not a 5-star talent. At least not right now. He was discovered early and his athleticism is what warranted his high, early ranking.

Others have emerged since, and his offense has not progressed nearly enough to warrant a 5-star ranking. He has a very spotty jump shot, he tries to do to much with the ball, and he makes questionable decisions as a PG.

His future at UT is probably at the SF position assuming he grows a couple inches in the next year and a half. Seems to be following the same path as JP Prince did.

Think JP with better ball-handling skills.

And better shooting skills, defense and explosiveness. So in essence, he's really not like JP at all.

Who cares! Recruiting stars and rankings are a joke. Watch the kids play and form your own opinions. When Ben Franklin speaks people listen.

I have came to the conclusion the people who rank these players hates us. Every time we get a player they drop their ranking.

Stars are not ability to contribute immediately. Rivals has stated that the stars are on potential and the stars are where players are suppose to be in their third and fourth season.

You're kidding right? Have you ever watched JP Prince play basketball? Defense is about the only thing he did on a consistent basis last year. And did you really question his explosiveness? Was there a more explosive player on Tennessee's team last year? Before you think, the answer is no.

To say that Ware is a better shooter is stating the obvious as JP couldn't throw it in the ocean. Ware is a better shooter than JP but that's not really saying much. He is still not a very good shooter and if you read any scouting report on Ware, it will say as much.

Let's describe player X as one who; doesn't shoot well from the outside, plays good defense, very athletic and explosive, and plays above the rim. That description fits both Ware and Prince. Ware is a better shooter at this point and a better ball-handler as well. He is particularly good at going to his off-hand (his left); something JP was terrible at doing.

I suggest you do some research before popping off.
