Kevin Ware drops to #56 on Rivals.

Enes Kanter moved up to #3 after he made players like Jared Sullinger look silly over the past 6 months.

It had nothing to do with Kentucky. He originally committed to Washington and would have been ranked just as high had he stuck with them.

You do realize Sullinger outscored Kanter in the Hoops Summit while both were in the game, right?

I didn't have the stats in front of me, but I remember reading that he "more than held his own" against the likes of players such as Jared Sullinger.

So, I may have overstated his play at the Hoops Summit, but the point being that he showed he could play with the best and outplay the best at times, and his ranking shot up because the kid can play ball, not because he signed with Kentucky.

You're kidding right? Have you ever watched JP Prince play basketball? Defense is about the only thing he did on a consistent basis last year. And did you really question his explosiveness? Was there a more explosive player on Tennessee's team last year? Before you think, the answer is no.

To say that Ware is a better shooter is stating the obvious as JP couldn't throw it in the ocean. Ware is a better shooter than JP but that's not really saying much. He is still not a very good shooter and if you read any scouting report on Ware, it will say as much.

Let's describe player X as one who; doesn't shoot well from the outside, plays good defense, very athletic and explosive, and plays above the rim. That description fits both Ware and Prince. Ware is a better shooter at this point and a better ball-handler as well. He is particularly good at going to his off-hand (his left); something JP was terrible at doing.

I suggest you do some research before popping off.

Whether Ware is a great shooter or not is irrelevant. I simply said he's better than JP. JP got his legs under him for the later part of the season, but Ware is a lot more explosive than JP. There's tons of things in this post that I could pick apart, but it's totally not worth it.

The more I read your posts as it pertains to basketball, the more I question whether you have ever touched a basketball.

To say with such certainty and conviction that a high school junior with no real distinguishable skill set is better than a recent high-major, Division I college graduate with a shot of being drafted in the NBA is at best far-fetched, if not ridiculous (JP will certainly get a look in some camps if he fails to be drafted).

In truth, neither one of them are great basketball players (in the sense of fundamental skills). They are both ultra-athletic, good defenders, and explosive. That will take them pretty far, but imagine how good they would be with an outside shot. If JP Prince could shoot 40-45% from the 3-point line, he would be a top-15 pick. If Ware did the same he would be ranked in the top 15.

I guess you're right. I wouldn't know a thing about basketball since I've played opposite of Tyler Smith, Lee Humphrey, Corey Brewer, Kyle Young, Dwight Howard, Derrick Byars, Andre Allen and teammates with Jamichael Blair before he blew his knee. I've played with talent and against talent. I know it and I know explosiveness. JP is not more explosive than Kevin Ware.

Just because you are amazed at JP Prince catching an alley oop in an NCAA tournament game on your fuzzy 12 inch television doesn't mean everyone else is.

If Ware is better than JP, he will be a starter as a freshman. I certainly hope your are correct.

Someone said earlier in this thread that Ware was similar to Prince. Only Prince was a better ball handler and more explosive. My point was that they're not very similar at all and that actually Ware was the better ball handler and more explosive. Just because they're both skinny doesn't mean they're similar players. In that case, I guess I'll start expecting JP to average 30 ppg next year in the NBA and win a couple of games in the first round against the Lakers.

I don't know enough about Ware to compare them. I just hope you are correct as Ware will be a major contributor if he is better than JP---my only point.

Ware being better than Prince doesn't guarantee a starting spot in 2011. Chris Jones is better than Ware. Golden may be hard to keep off the floor if he can really shoot as good as Lofton as some people have mentioned. And the Hopson/Tatum/Mcrae trio should still be around.

Wrong.

I said they were similar in that neither had a good shot, they were both good defenders, both were explosive, but...

...WARE WAS A BETTER BALL-HANDLER THAN PRINCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are going to quote me, at least get it right, and thanks for proving my point by trying to re-state my argument and calling it your own.

You are right on one point, Chris Jones is better than Ware, especially as a PG. Better shooter, better scorer, equal ball-handler, potentially as good a defender if he were to put forth maximum effort all the time.

Golden is nowhere near Lofton's class as a shooter. Comparisons like this are completely stupid hyperbole. Lofton is a once in 10-20 years type shooter. They don't come along every year.

Golden is a good shooter, but to compare him to Lofton is like saying that a Texas Roadhouse steak is comparable to one from Ruth's Chris. Both are good, but there is a reason you pay three times as much at Ruth's Chris...only one is elite.

Ware's build/athleticism/shooting ability reminds me of a raw Kevin Durant. He is obviously shorter, but he has a lot of up-side to him. I'm really looking forward to his game in Orange.
