Key has been a huge disappointment

Guilty. I truly believed he was the answer for teams looking to negate Vescovi.... especially after his early season success. He's easily my choice for most disappointing Vol....and that includes ON. Hell, at this point you know exactly what you have and don't have with him. Same for everyone else on the roster. Key had me believing early. That ship sank right after it launched.

imo barnes stifles the offence in players minds as if they are afraid to shoot. Afraid to play loose, and they play tight. You said key did good early so what happened? If its not being able to play loose, or afraid to take shots he would normaly have taken before he arrived at ut

Justin Powell has had success at 2 other P5 schools. He just wasn't a good match with Barnes and Tennessee. He didn't have the desire to be the kind of defender Barnes demanded he be.
Individual success, maybe. But those other 2 teams are/were below .500 overall. Several guys on our team could be a big fish in a small pond somewhere else.

I hesitate to call Auburn a small pond, even with their poor record that season. They were coming off of a F4 the year before. I'm just refuting the idea that Justin Powell isn't a P5 player. He's done it at two other stops at that level. He just wasn't a good fit at Tennessee. Nothing wrong with admitting that.

But he also couldsn't hit shots, which is his M.O. I can only guess it was a confidence thing.
He shot 38.1% from 3 at Tennessee, which would lead our current team by a significant margin. He just wouldn't defend. Bad fit.
