We're coming off a good win against South Carolina but now we have to focus on a bigger challenge. I know we're obviously the underdog but I believe there's keys to upsetting Bama this weekend:

1.) Worley has to have a great game in order to set up the tempo. He must be able to handle the pressure from a hostile crowd and be able to throw the ball to our receivers.

2.) We need to limit turnovers and be able to convert on 3rd down. We cannot keep giving Bama chances to score cause they do it very easily. We must keep the ball away from their offense as much as possible.

3.) Our offensive line has to have a great game as well. They must be able to open holes for our running backs to run through and be able to protect Worley out of the pocket.

4.) Limit penalties! We can't give up yards or lose yards from silly penalties.

Like Butch Jones said, it's going to be a great challenge for us. I know we're a huge underdog but I believe our boys will be hungry for another upset. I believe Butch will have them fired up and ready to go coming into this game. Go Vols!!! :bammer:

the offensive line is going to have to play with more intensity for this game, they will have to have there best game yet for a upset

no more dumb ass penalties and no turnovers,UT can't afford it for this game at all

the defense will have to be able to stop Bamas running game,a tall order for them,I do believe the secondary will have a good game,if the D line can get some pressure

i do hope that Worley can have a good game and no interceptions

then Palardy will have the chance to kick another game winner

if all the above happens

Vols get the upset of the year

there were several dropped passes by USClite that would have been big gains or tds. i fear that those wont be dropped this week. we need pressure on the QB.

Limiting Penalties will be the deciding factor, we all know this will be the hardest part as the officals will favor alabama. go vols!! make them bleed.

Keys to beating Bama ( I read this somewhere)

1. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.
2. Play for and make the breaks and when one comes your way - SCORE.
3. If at first the game - or the breaks - go against you, don't let up... put on more steam.
4. Protect our kickers, our QB, our lead and our ball game.
5. Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.
6. Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.
7. Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes.

Key #1. Nick Saban resigns Friday
Key #2. Half of their team comes down with the swine flu
Key #3. The other half of the team decides to get drunk before kickoff

Wrs and rbs have to catch every ball they can get their hands on. I think that has been a big reason we have been in the last 2 games. A lot of drops against fla and ore.

AJ will have to play to the level that so many on this board think will get him drafted. He has to meet those running backs in the hole on all those off tackle runs. Our safeties can't be our leading tacklers in this game.

UT has to find a way to run the football.

Bama is going to test Coleman, and they are going to use their tight ends more than any team we've seen this year...with the possible exception of Oregon.

Don't like the sound of that at all.

Bama's weakness for the last 2 years has been their secondary. The secondary is still very good, but it is the weakest point in their offense. They struggle with big, tall wide recievers. They struggled with Evans from A&M... We must get the ball to North and Croom to move the ball down the field. North will go up and get it at any point. Our offense does not look bad when we take shots down the field.

Bama does one thing better than every school in the nation... they don't crack under pressure. You want my opinion? The single biggest key to beating Bama, whether you are Oregon or UT, is getting in their head.

How about we start with every player executing their assignment to the best of their ability. It comes down to who blocks and tackles the best. Just go out there and block and tackle, have fun and let the chips fall where they may. Block and Tackle!

The key to wining any football game is wining the battle in the trenches. Having a coach the players want to play for will make a big difference this year.

Half of Bama's team found to have contact with Mark Emmert today and the other half being found to have contact with Nevin Shapiro on Thursday.

Well it will definitely help if someone pisses off McCullers and he goes hulk mode like last week late in the game.

So if every Bama player is better than every Tennessee player, then ut can still win if they do they're best.

You've still got a chance.

Who said they were? UT's OT's IMO are better than Bama's this year. Three and possibly 4 of UT's OL's will be in next year's NFL draft. It is difficult to compare interior DL's in a 3-4 and 4-3 but UT's DT group has played well as have their DE's. UT does not blitz often (half of Bama's sacks are by DL's while ALL of UT's are by DL's). They have more sacks than Bama and it would not be as close as it is if not for Bama's 4 vs hapless UK.

Then you really have to factor in the change of system following the Sunseri debacle. These guys are improving. Bama will be a very big test for how far they've come.

Where are you from there "chief"? Just curious because of your avatar. Not Cherokee, NC is it?
