I think it comes down to stopping the Dawgs run game, if we can stop their running attack and force Stetson to try and beat us with his arm I think we win by 10+ but if we can't stop the run we will be in for a long day in Athens! I do believe that Bama is a better team than Georgia but I think the one area where Georgia is better than Bama is the run and we need to focus on that, stop the run and I honestly believe you beat Georgia, we need our LB's ready to jump some routes on the TE throws that Stetson likes to try and force into coverage sometimes and I think Georgia starts to crack! GO VOLS LETS WIN THIS ONE!

We're gonna need to establish the run - don't need to run for 200 yards but do need to run enough to keep their front honest. This will be the biggest challenge our receivers have faced in terms of a secondary - receivers will have to get separation on those down field routes and get yards after the catch on the short stuff. Protecting Hooker will be key - the Georgia D will try to take away the run and tee off on Hooker.

We need about 75 yards out of Hooker and 100 out if the backs and we have a great shot

We've already got the keys, brother....see below
  1. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.
  2. Play for and make the breaks. When one comes your way—SCORE.
  3. If at first the game—or the breaks—go against you, don’t let up . . . put on more steam.
  4. Protect our kickers, our QB, our lead and our ball game.
  5. Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle for this is the WINNING EDGE.
  6. Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.
  7. Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes.
I have spoken.

Exactly, run the ball effectively and efficiently and we win. If they can stop our run game without having to put another man in the box it's going to be a long day.

The more things change the more they stay the same. If we can run and stop the run we win.

Bennett can put up a lot of yards but hes taken a step backwards this year. Our offense don't need much balance, 150 yards against Georgia can be enough.

I don’t think Ga is any better than Bama but it’s all about matchups. preseason I thought we matched up better with Ga this year and we had a good shot to beat them, however as recent history (a few weeks) shows we matched up pretty even with Bama. Still think we are equal to both but home field will be huge for the Dawgs.

They’re essentially a much better version of Kentucky. Shut down or at least limit their run game, and they will be screwed. Unlike in years past, I don’t see any of UGA’s RB’s as elite and their WR’s are mediocre. They don’t have anyone that can take the top off the defense. Make Bennett have to out-duel Hooker and we will win this game.

Athens is a tough place to play, but it isn’t Death Valley or The Swamp. Not an intimidating environment to me. We have played well against UGA in Athens when we had teams that were worth a s***. Even in 2018 and 2020 when we were trash, we hung around with them way longer than we should’ve. I remember it being like 24-12 and like 23-21 at the start of the 4th, we just didn’t have the coaching, depth or QB to hang in the final 15.

Georgia looked a little shaky at times when Florida went up tempo. We are going to turn that up to 11 and we'll see who breaks first.

I hope our pass rush is on again bc Bennett can throw the damn ball. Think we may have to spy Bennett some too bc he will take off if it's there. Then there's the tight ends to tend with. Maybe stick Slaughter on Bowers all game

It begins and ends with our offensive line. Georgia will absolutely make their best effort to constrict our run game. If they can't, we hit our scoring average. If they can, it's a close ballgame..

Hooker has time to throw because of great Blocking
The Volunteers win TOP by protecting the football, and using long drives so the Bulldogs offense has less opportunities to score points.

Keep Bennett in the Pocket so he can’t run to get 1st downs for the Bulldogs.

Avoid self destructing with penalties.

The Volunteers defense creates turnovers by pressuring Bennett.

Mizzou was pretty successful bringing the house on them every play and getting to Bennett.

Still think the only reason they ended up losing that game is because they tried to drop into a soft zone the last two UGA drives.

A little off topic here, but does anybody who knows Xs and Os know exactly what was happening on offense in the 2nd half vs Pitt? That was probably the worst offensive performance i can remember. If i'm remembering correctly, they just pinned their ears back and blitzed hooker most plays

If Tennessee plays their game they win…….period. I don’t care what Georgia does.

If Tennessee makes mistakes, plays sloppy, has an off game…..then anything can happen.
