Looking at the replay where he was on the ground for a while. I think he would have caught that ball if he hadn't had the daylights knocked out of himself by landing partially on his head!

Hype also said on the JHS that Keyton was dinged up for Florida.

He was down a while Sat.

He and Thornton drop too many.
My god man. I don’t know what to say about some of our fans. Are the drops you’re referring to balls that were thrown way off target? That’s what’s mostly happened this year. Keyton and thorton both have 1 or 2 bad drops on the whole year. Both have continually made amazing catches. Especially keyton. He’s an absolute stud

Thornton has more than 1 or 2… here’s to hoping he gets it going. Lots of potential. Not a great receiver yet

Maybe Milton throws to fast, where Thornton and Keyton drop to many
So, I’ll try to not make this long winded, but I was debating with my buddy the other day (referring to the Austin Peay game)….was it more Milton or our receivers, my contention is I mostly put the blame on Milton, to me there is a difference between throwing accurate vs throwing a catchable ball, and of course Milton has accuracy issues, but I think his biggest flaw is throwing a catchable ball. My humble opinion is: he doesn’t read the field well, and b/c of his arm strength, all throws are always at least on the table so he never progressed his game in regards to reading the field or honing in his touch pass. Two biggest examples were this last UTSA game, I mean positively he recognized he needed touch but man it looked so uncomfortable for him to just place a ball in there (the post/dig route he missed and then one down the sidelines). Not saying our receivers can’t pick up the slack but from playing the game, it is so hard to adjust to a bullet of a pass especially if thrown behind when going across the middle. I know the old saying: it hit a hand, it has to be caught, but there are so many parts to that. Kind of like a kicker has one job, but what if the snap is slightly off, or the holder misaligns the laces or the tilt is off. I don’t know, totally open to discussion on this, but just my two cents on the issues that persist with our offense

All the hype on Thornton. He has done absolutely nothing so far.
That's 100% on the media. I've found that quite a lot of them are lazy. They repeat things that other media members have written and rarely do their homework. They completely ignore the fact that Thornton had only 300-odd yards at Oregon. Every time I've read the over-the-top hype, I would say to myself, they need to pump the brakes. We need to see it first. And many fans jumped onto that hype train with both feet. Many were saying to sit Keyton and insert Thornton, never having seen the guy play!

Coach Heupel has limited tolerance for stone hand receivers. Webb and Nimrod will replace Thornton and may have already in the rotation. Maybe Thornton needs a redshirt year and practice with Nico. As for Keyton - he is one of the top receivers in the SEC and clutch all the way.

I believe you need to take off the orange colored glasses.
Thornton has been utterly disappointing.
Keaton is Keaton. Makes some plays , also drops some easy ones.
Keep it real.

Well, keeping it real. Keyton has dropped ONE easy pass! In other situations, the DBs have made a play.

He looked a lot better the last two weeks. Not living up to the high expectations yet, but he seems to be improving. He looked lost out there the first two games.
