Just imagine if Wright had stayed and got to play with this Dylan Sampson….Sampson's great running vision and strong legs made him an outstanding RB. He looked for the openings and was patient enough to find the slightest crease. Guys like Sampson don't show up every day. He was a special and memorable RB among a long storied history of Vol greats at RB.
That’s just the thing, good buddy. We don’t need either of them to start. Shoot, if Seldon doesn’t transfer and we stay healthy, we may not even need them for depth yet.I have no doubt. So is Baker. But starting as a true freshman is hard to do. Our leading single season yards and TD record holder couldn't do it. No doubt in a couple of years they'll be studs. We need a stud in September 2025
From what you've seen from Bishop and Lewis. Do you believe either of them are SEC RB1? Is there a 2nd team All SEC in the backfield? I'm not saying either are not good, they are, but not elite. Are they on par with Wright from last year? I personally think the RB rooms needs to be upgraded with Bishop keeping his same role and Lewis another year to grow, get better vision, learn pass pro and generally just developThat’s just the thing, good buddy. Bishop is a bigger, stronger Jabari Small, and we ran all over the SEC for two years with that dude starting. He’s a more than adequate RB2. Lewis is just a true freshman: how much of a jump did Wright and Sampson make from year 1 to year 2? And Seldon still has the tools to be very solid at the very least. I like where we’re at with those three, add the two ‘25 guys and that’s a good room with the potential to be elite in ‘26.From what you've seen from Bishop and Lewis. Yes. I see and like the comparison. However,Small was definitely #2 behind Wright. We do not have a #1. Maybe Bishop can take it and run with it. Wouldn't surprise me. Me, I'd go try and get Gordon from Oklahoma State for his last year unless he leaves. Someone of that caliber. This offense can attract that type of back. Hope Bishop sits him on his ass and relegates him to #2 but I'd kick the tires on an elite back. Let the chips fall. Guess we'll see how the coaches feel here soonBishop is a bigger, stronger Jabari Small, and we ran all over the SEC for two years with that dude starting. He’s a more than adequate RB2. Lewis can be that guy, imo. Seldon still has a chance to be that guy as well.Yes. I see and like the comparison. However,Small was definitely #2 behind Wright. We do not have a #1.
