Kiffin commits first violation at USC

Since most people in the media apparently think that Kiffin is a lightweight and have expressed it, Kiffin may feel the need to continue taking liberties with the rules, to prove that "he is somebody." The media covering USC will really go after him, if they sense there is blood in the water, as in an NCAA probation or other sanctions on USC.

That is just thumbing your nose at the NCAA. He knew up front it was a violation and did it anyway. He is just trying to do what he can before the hammer drops next month.

seriously?? Who does this guy think he is? He is a nobody and has done nothing to deserve any job much less his last 2... I say we make a vow right now to erase his name (and all the X talk) from our threads and our minds... We are better than that... WE ARE TENNESSEE!!!

Chizik did almost the same thing when he got hired at Auburn. Only, he visited the recruits in a limo instead of giving them a ride. Every coach may not break the rules, but most S T R E T C H the heck out of them!!

So apparently he committed his first secondary violation at USC that included picking up a recruit in a limo from the airport. (via volquest)

First? That's funny?

How about Monte naming recruit on radio, O contacting recruits multiple times in dead period, O contacting EEs enrolled at another institution, O contacting recruits using UT phone, X naming recruit to a reporter...

Any word if this was Ambles?

Who cares, because apparently the NCAA doesnt, so why should we. Everyone knows he will do whatever it takes to get the recruits to sign and that is why volnation loved the guy. That guy was Benedict Arnold and lets quit talking about him. If Ambles doesnt want to come to TN then he shouldnt let the door hit him on the way out.

Kiffin is NO LONGER UT's Coach. Let's stop putting so much energy into what ehs doing and what he's done. We have a Coach now. Let's give him a chance to right the ship.

I care because the NCAA doesn't have a backbone when it comes to these things. I was never a fan of the constant rule-bending that went on when Kiffin was here. It is becoming nearly impossible to run a clean program and compete in the recruiting battles at people who are breaking every rule to get the upper-hand. The NCAA needs to take a stand and start handing out actual penalties for these repeated violations.

I think in about 10 days all the Kiffin stuff will go away, but every time I sign in and look at the recruiting front I can't help but think how he s* UT on that end. Hopefully we get a good class and I never have to think about him again. Last year I think he said a recruits name intensionally on air (knowing the rule, but saying he forgot), probably the same thing here, I 95% sure he knew, but you have a few that one can burn I guess.

If USC was to get some major sanctions handed down by the NCAA, what is the rule about transfers? Would they still have to sit out a year?

I'm not surprised by this at all. At least he's making his methods known to the USC administration right off the bat. But that being said, it sadly doesn't matter. Secondary violations are worthless, and there is no incentive to stop committing them because the NCAA doesn't really care about them. I suspect that USC will turn a blind eye to all the secondaries that Kiffy will commit if it lands them big recruits. It truly is sad that college football has become more about bending and breaking the rules instead of following them.
