Kiffin on late kick.

Have nothing against Lane KIffin, the person. But he was a bad hire for UT from the onset. He should have never been here and would not have been if we had a competent AD at the time. Firing Fulmer should have happened after the 2005 season and then we would have never been in that predicament.

If you think that Lane was a good hire, just look at the thugs he brought here and how that turned out for the program. He contributed to the car wreck as much as Dooley, Jones, or Pruitt.
Yeah he kinda started the mess

May want to redo your math, friend.

From Kiffin's departure at the end of the 2009 season to Heupel's arrival in January of 2021 was only 11 years and a bit. We left the wilderness when Dan White came to Knoxville and brought Josh along.
Only seemed like 40 years in the wilderness.

I don’t buy it.
I have never seen much real contrition from him, I don’t recall him making an actual apology to how he left us. Not to mention him obviously getting his players to fake injury after injury against us. I just don’t see any respect from him.
He showed up to SEC media days looking like he had an all night bender. I still will not be surprised if we hear of more bad behavior on his part.
Bottom line, I’ve never been convinced of his head coaching abilities, I think he is overrated and will not achieve as big of success as many folks seem to think at Ol Miss.
Forever thankful Huep is our coach and as for Kiffin, the only time I want to see him is walking away in dejection after we crush his team on the field. He’s not worth even thinking about otherwise

Scenario: Saban fades into the Sunset. Replacement coach tanks at Bama. Recruits figure out Hempel’s an offensive genius and a players coach. Tennessee begins winning in the style Bama has been . Neyland stadium the loudest and baddest in the SEC. Kiffin then sadly realizes that he had his dream job long ago - just like the man who leaves his wife for the trophy wife and gets dumped, and pines for what he left.

Being an Al Davis reject should have been a clue that he was a POS FROM THE GET GO.
Not a minute list when you talk coaches on the wrong side of Al. Mike Shanahan and Jon Gruden also on there amongst others.

This guy's P5 record is 58-33. It's fascinating how a mediocre coach gets so much attention. He was just a hair away from losing his last 6 games last year.

Hamilton's Folly = Being conned into hiring Lame Kitten and firing Fulmer without a plan or proven replacement head coach available. Kiffen remains an egotistic front runner. He would be at Auburn now if events had changed slightly last year. The man is a decent offensive coach no doubt but serious character flaws limit his ability to lead a Power 5 program. Heupel is a true winner and offensive genius who led a team to a national championship and deserved to win the Heisman. Lane is a spoiled brat who was a marginal athlete at best and rode his daddy's coattails up the coaching ladder. Hamilton played Russian roulette with the Tennessee football program and the worst happened. Kamikaze Mike is still kicking around in Tennessee Mike Hamilton - LEARFIELD.

Kiffin realizes that the odds of him being the head coach in the SEC with a college football cathedral for a home field and an NIL budget that allows the school to attract many of the NFL future prospects has passed him by, he is humble when in Knoxville, as he knows that he will never have that type of an opportunity again, he will have entertaining and middle of the conference program at Ole Miss, but in all probability his best days are behind him, he crashed and burned in Oakland and down in Los Angeles, his other stops in Knoxville, Tuscaloosa, Boca Raton and Oxford have shown his creative offensive schemes and mindset, but not much else

He left for his dream job. I can respect that on a certain level.
I can’t when he left just prior to signing day, the worst time possible, and tried taking players with him. The guy is about one thing: himself! If the FL job comes open he will lobby for that job. He has learned nothing.
