Kill Team: War Crimes in Afghanistan

Fair warning: these pictures are disturbing and there's video of them killing innocents. Not for the faint of heart.

Now is not the time for a discussion about this thread. One thing I'd like to say before I'm out of here to stay, this has been around in every war. Vietnam War was known for **** like this. Yet, how many people were bashing the police for abusing authority?

Lots (I think), including me.

Yeah, I heard about this maybe a month ago or so. Maybe longer. I, honestly, have no idea wtf we're doing over there. No. Freaking. Idea.

Crap like this goes on all of the time and people wonder why I don't openly "support the troops" who are over there fighting for my "freedom." I'm not scared of Afghani civilians... or any Afghanis for that matter. They're killing innocent people.

Do you honestly think the actions of a few represent the military as a whole? It's part of war...does that make it okay? Absolutely not, but these kinds of things have been going on for thousands of years.

Agree. The posters above seem to be of the opinion that it is a service wide conspiracy to kill civilians for sport.

No, but it doesn't help the image at all to anyone outside of the US.

First, what a disgusting, awful thing these men did. Hopefully they get punished accordingly.

What an awesome time to post this though. Impeccable timing OP. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Also, good job not using generalizations. I mean, making a "hearts and minds" comment while using an example of a handful of unprofessional actions as compared to the 100,000 or so that are there is good.

Maybe some of those posters above should serve and see what's going on for themselves instead of enjoying the liberties that are provided for them and then bashing the ones who provide them.

People tend to pay attention to the "atrocities" America has committed, yet they conveniently forget the resources, money, and aid the U.S. has given to the world.

Brother is over there right now fighting extremists. It is ****ing retarded to pretend like an isolated event is a reflection on the overall mission or the personnel carrying it out. Makes me sick to hear conspiracy wackos use real people as literary devices in their maniacal rants.

Some of these comments aren't going to win hearts and minds though. Perhaps the OP should go comment blindly on Youtube vids of troops not giving water to Iraqi kids. It seems more up his alley.

The real problem here, imo, is the admissions and evaluation process in the armed forces. How in the hell did these degenerates stay in the army so long - let alone get in in the first place. I have a few buddies who have been to Afghanistan and back and it makes me shudder to think of them in pfc Stoner's place.

Why would I think that? What did I say that would even imply that? I think 99% of the military is good people.

I didn't do that. I don't think this is an accurate representation of our operation as a whole, but guess what? In the hearts and minds of Muslims....this is the kind of stuff they'll remember. Even though it is isolated.

Everyone's jumping all over me for something I didn't say, when my real point is how quiet the media has been about this. No one has answered my original question yet, "had you heard of this?"

The same reason theres cops who are serial rapists and teachers who collect kiddie porn.
Psychopaths and social degenerates generally aren't too open about things.

There was a pattern of behavior to the Morlock guy that they would have known about.

What difference does it make if someone else had heard of this, and more importantly, why are you pushing this so hard today of all days?

Something like this shouldn't diminish the memories of any of fallen soldiers. Remember those who deserve remembrance.

Instances please.

If you had read the article as opposed to popping off, you'd realize this wasn't anything like a case of abused authority. At all.

Explain. Getting drunk and fighting as a kid? Leaving an accident scene? Nothing screams sociopath like being a stupid kid.

Maybe I misunderstood - didn't he burn his wife with a cigarette and leave the scene of an accident between tours? If so, my mistake.

Don't get me wrong, there was a gross failure within the unit involved. But those above who choose to use these things as a brush to paint the entire mission, well, you're wrong as 2 boys ****ing at church.
