It was a dramatic post, but no, not because of White's history, but because fans would be excited to see what she could do. Our program is past the "see what she can do" type of hires. We are a top 2 basketball program in terms of history. We shouldn't ever be at a point where we have to settle for a "see what they can do" hire, and we are not at a point in history where we can take that type of risk, imo.

Don't want to start another thread so I will post here. Watching FF and all year these teams would be beaten badly by Pats best teams and Geno even Dawn team with Wilson would beat up on these teams.

Never heard that saying before actually, but if a "hit dog is hollering" is just me like, ya know, reading the forum and recognizing you're obviously bringing up topics I was just talking about then dang you got me. Excellent work.

We Lady Vol fans are going to have to someday come to the realization that we aren’t gonna see another Pat Summit. Like Bama isn’t gonna see another Saban or UCONN with Geno. Coaches like that just don’t come around. I think at B least some standards and expectations need to be lowered or at the very least adjusted.

That's fair, but I meant it in the context of that she has an extremely high ceiling. It's a risk with great reward. That is innately exciting.

Terrifying (i.e. risk) but exciting. There's lots of upside.

For the record: I don't think that's who should be hired for this job. I also don't think it's who DW had in mind initially.

While I agree there will never be another Pat Summit, that doesn't mean we have to settle for an unproven name. If we were going to settle, there was absolutely no reason to fire Harper.

And I am pretty sure Pat Summit would not agree with any standards being lowered.
