Kim Caldwell (Rookie Coach of the Year-WBCA) is named Head Coach of Iconic Lady Vols WBB

From what I’ve heard. We’ve offered, and (multiple) coaches have said no.

Obviously, I’m some random guy on the internet. But I think that will come through when we announce someone that is head scratching from the coach we just fired. Once again, I have no names but comes from credible sources (to me).
“Head scratching”?

Are you an advocate for more of the same of what we had been getting?

Because a lot of coaches turned us down during that search. If he wanted Heupel first, he would have taken him first and not waited so long. He got told no ALOT. Heupel has worked out for us obviously.

I'm not going to say you're wrong because I don't know factually that you are, but the word "ALOT" (correct terminology is "a lot") is pretty heavy. It implies more than one (singular), more than "some" (more ambiguous, generally more than one but not a large number,) more than "several" (more than two but not many). When I hear "a lot" I think four or more. I don't think that happened for football OR women's basketball.

I think it’s pretty obvious that nobody has a clue what’s going on in this coaching search. Lot of idiots on this website!

Hi my name is Volstylexx, and I have a problem. I am 2 mins sober from searching random coaches names on social media looking for possible clues, an hour and half after I said "Goodnight I'm going to bed."

That’s what I was told, so I have no idea what”A lot” is. Assuming more than than DW was thinking he was going to get by letting go of Harper. But again, I’m just the messenger. Heard he’ll pick someone soon though because it’s not a good look for him to take this long and not get Staley, Walz, Hammon, Gottlieb, or Lawson. Even though I’ve heard Lawson wasn’t a consideration and they think Staley would never do it.

Can someone tell me where Pat Head coached and what her record was when she was hired at Tennessee?
Can you tell me who the great coaches back then were for lady basketball? Everyone in this forum knows that she put Girl's college basketball on the map. Now things have changed- ratings are skyrocketing for the top teams in the country-- we need to be in on that action. Tennessee Lady VOLS are the bluest of the blue bloods. We shouldn't be taking a back seat to anyone. That's the way I feel.

She was very "anti- Kara Lawson" yesterday in her youtube interview. Not because she didn't like her but because she says Danny White understands this is such a pivotal moment for the program and that we have to have a splash hire. She's been consistent in that approach since Kellie's firing. If the reports that the contract/firing was leaked to her then the fact that she thinks we need a splash hire suggests she also knew the direction the AD would look when they started their search.
I watch all 45 Minutes of Cora Hall John Adams Blake Toppmeyer
Both Cora and John said Kara hadn't finished father than Kellie Sweet Sixteen
Cora said Kara had promise
John Adams said with some not happy with Kellie firing
He through the Chancellor and the president would want a name coach
John said if it was up to Danny White he would go with someone he thought would be a good coach who wasn't a name coach.
We see which way they go.

By the time this search is done y'all will have tried on more coaches than Imelda Marcos tried on shoes.

That is not so bad, but the way people fight over each rumor as if it is true is hilarious.

Multiple journalists have reported that Walz wasn’t even contacted so how does your source(s)expect DW to hire a coach that didn’t even receive consideration? Neither do I believe Kara Lawson was offered.
Also it’s likely been a two-three full day window of interviews. How many people during a job search like this is actually receiving an offer on day 4 basically with the job coming open late Monday? I say realistically maybe one or two at the most have received an official offer. Not “alot”
It doesn’t work that way.

Things I think could be true at this point if we've been turned down by anyone is:

1. Danny White reached out to Becky Hammon to gauge if she had any interest at coming to the college level. She said "Thank you for calling, but no" ( I don't consider this turning us down unless she interviewed).
2. White reached out to Gottlieb (Big Fish) and Gottlieb listened - why wouldn't she? She may have had genuine interest but the reports that she was tied to star player Juju are correct and her star players and incoming #1 recruiting class didn't seem interested in following her. In that instance, she stays because her best chance at a championship as a coach is going to come in the next 1-3 years at USC.
3. White has shown courtesy to the mid major coaches who have reached out and may have extended interviews to several. Early report was several very successful P5 coaches and Mid majors had reached out to US.

That would lead us to where we are today (five days into the search). He'd probably now make some calls to Wes Moore and continue down the list (UCLA's coach, Colorados, Gonzaga's) etc.

I am certain 99% of this tonight came from Richard West (Fake Parody account) on X (twitter) posting this earlier. It has been viewed 75,000 times and growing since he posted it 3 hours ago. All the other "insider" accounts started posting about her after this started spreading online.

This is where we are now if you look at the comments. We don’t know if our new coach is going to legitimate or a parody after what DW has done.

We’ve been turned down by 173 coaches because it’s been 4 days and no hire yet.

There's a persistent rumor that it could be the Maggie Dixon Rookie Coach of the Year winner Kim (Stephens) Campbell out of Marshall.

While yes, she's a first-year mid-major coach with no P5 experience, from all I've read about her she very well could be someone who could be successful with her "high-octane offense AND defense." She's known for being an excellent, dynamic teacher of the game.

She also called Marshall her "longtime dream job" and was thrilled to be going home to West Virginia, so it's probably not her.

WhomEVER is hired I'll do my darnedest to support them. And if it is someone I am deeply disappointed about, I'll just keep my mouth shut, my typing fingers still, and hope with everything in me that I'm proven wrong about the person and they are wildly successful.

That's all that matters. 🧡
