You are the one who un-sarcastically said “…so I am sure we have been turned down.”

So to clarify… are we both lying? Or are you allowed to say something is true without evidence? Which by the way, yours is just an educated guess which I totally agree makes logical sense. I’m basing it off of that as well as what I’ve been told by people I trust.

That was sarcasm and it seems most understood it. (Yet you happen to be able to discern that somehow even though almost every post by me here is sarcasm) I was mocking you. I have said many times that “nobody knows”. I’ve never stated a guess as a fact. I have never said someone turned us down, or never said I knew ho the coach would be. Nice try, professor. You thought you had me.

That wasn’t sarcasm. Or you think people most often get their first choice. Which is it?

everyone is fighting over portal players and recruits…. I’m sure the new coach will pull a few players but it is April…. Would have been nice if the previous coach had done a better job building a roster.

UT tried the Pat tree and it's been 12 years with 0 Final Fours and from memory no Elite 8's(but could be mistaken). And for sure no Final Fours since Parker and crew. I hope DW goes and gets the best available. And anyone who says Dawn, Tara, Geno, or Kim doesn't understand what's going on in women's basketball. Who knows who DW hires, but Kellie wasn't getting it done. The roster isn't good enough and the high school recruiting was honestly pitiful, NIL or not.

You have been saying SEVERAL people turned Ut down, chief. You claim to know it as a fact, whereas I add (sarcastically) “I’m sure we have been turned down” because some do get their first choice. Sarcasm or not, I never said “several people” turned down the job. I don’t know if anyone has turned it down or not. Even if someone did turn it down, I don’t think SEVERAL people did, like you claim in your “sky is falling” act.

You said A LOT of people turned down the football job yet when asked by people to name the coaches who turned the job down, you can’t. People like you assume that Ut didn’t get their first choice or their 2nd,3rd, 7th choice because no announcement has been made. I use words like “often”, “rarely”, or terms like “I assume”, or “often” as to be clear I’m not trying to act like I know, because that would be dishonest. You use words like “truth”, “facts” “my source”, and “obviously”. You lie enough on here, I don’t want to add to it.

Keep swinging big boy. You need to get on the phone with your source for the next update. We all depend on you. Can’t wait for the next lie.

For someone who doesn’t care if people believe him, you sure are fighting to be heard.

That’s not an excuse, plenty of good players are still in the portal and others will enter as well. So if the new coach can’t attract the best players from the portal, what does that say about our future?

1) Danny White is a fool if he fired KH and didnt have an upgrade 99% in the bag. Dont feed me the crap either that he couldnt contact anyone. Thats BS.

2) Most professionals have mentors. Hopefully she has one that tells her to not commit career suicide. I dont care if she has
10 D2 national titles. D2 is not D1 and does not prepare a coach for a job—especially in the SEC. And yes, great season at Marshall. Unfortunately the Sun Belt isnt even a great mid major conference.

You make an offer to likely one of them and again give them time to decide if they will accept or not. This person would sit down with their agent and decide if the terms meet their expectations. Professional do their due diligences before making final decisions. But let’s say he was turned down, so now we are to believe DW hurried to the 2nd and 3rd option which also said “no?” All in 72 hours? That doesn’t add up.
I believe somewhere in the middle there were 2-3 candidates they really liked. It’s possible they got #1 or #2. I think we already know that #3 has been leaked. We’ll find out at some point.

DW is really keeping this close to the hip. My best friend played for Tara Vanderveer back when she was at Ohio State and continues to speak to her staff almost weekly. She also knows Cori Close and a couple of former WNBA coaches and assistants. She reached out to her network and they've heard absolutely nothing.

Word is that since Cori"s family is from LA and her parents are aging, she wouldn't be interested. She also doubts LG would leave CA since she has been there so long. Didn't think UT would be a good fit, but didn't rule out the possibility. She said Hammon would be the best candidate, but wondered if she'd be willing to have to work the full year and deal with the headache of recruiting.

Thought I'd share what I was told, but doesn't seem to shed any real light on who it might be. In other words, I couldn't dig up anything from the WBB coaching fraternity.

Just how will you or anyone else know if the person hired is an upgrade or not ......that is rhetorical .You don't .No matter who he hires no one will know if he/she is an upgrade and a success for at least a year or two. ...I will wait at least two years to start fretting about the hire my own self.....that is if not successful up to that point.
