recruiting wasn't the shortcomingThese six names comprise the best target list I’ve seen since the search began.
I’m reluctant to suggest Hammon due to her lack of recruiting experience; however, that can be fixed by good assistant choices. To me, recruiting was a huge shortcoming for the past several years. That price tag would be very high, but it certainly would make a statement.
I personally prefer the Oklahoma, Ohio State and the Indiana coaches. I cannot bring myself to believe the USC coach would leave her current situation for a restart.
Freese and Walz are good coaches, imo, but might be difficult fits in Knoxville.
Thanks. Found itI saw it just search knox news lady vols
Kara is very left leaning, and did not have great things to say about the university when Kellie was hired. I was very interested in hiring Kara when we hired Kellie but not at all interested in hiring her this time around! On paper, she may be less than what we want, but I trust White, if goes that route. It means he vetted her to the center of the earth. Remember that he hired unknown assistant Nate Oats at Buffalo. When Hurley left, DW interviewed everyone Oats had ever coached and talked to the players at Buffalo. He hired him saying he was a better coach than any of the experienced candidates. He was heavily criticized. Right now, we are negotiating with a top tier candidate to try to make it work. If that fails, and White hires Kara, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Yeah let’s play give the kid a chance when we fire a coach who finished in the top of a P5 conferenceMiller is a damn fine coach. She just hasn’t got an opportunity at a big time program.
