Why would anyone want smart over Taggart?

To me it is a no brainier. You got a guy doing unbelievable things at wiki and you got a d coordinator.

Not to relive the past 20 yrs.

On the bright side Smart is Saban's right hand man. He atleast knows how to running a championship practice.. He probably even knows Saban's bathroom schedule.. Not saying it's a great hire but if someone knows how to beat Saban it's probably Kirby Smart.. Personally i'm not in love with another 3-4 scheme though.. But it could be worse? Couldn't it?

You can't compare Smart to Sunseri, I think being a DC makes you a better candidate for a head coaching job than being a position coach

Personally, I agree with all of you who think that this was who Dave Hart wanted all along. The only way to get the fans to get on board was to make it look like no one else wanted the job. Could the smokescreen actually have been for Smart? I am so grateful that Charlie Strong is out of the picture, anybody and everybody looks better to me today.
