This should be required viewing for ALL NCAA athletes, and fans! And probably all the HS recruits as well.

This speech earned KC a 1 minute standing ovation and was lauded as the best speech ever given by a player at the Big Ten luncheon.

This is a pretty special athlete with a very good head on his shoulders. I hope you all can appreciate what he is saying.

And I hope the link works, I cant get to youtube here at work, but I copied the link.

if someone wants to embed the video for me I would be grateful.

Very good and appears to be a great young man.

But I have to say, it has been a privelage to watch the elite SEC teams dominate the elite Big 10 teams over the years and we'll take the responsibility.

Thanks for posting this. Guys like him Tebow, and Reveiz is what college football truly needs, or any sport for that matter. GBO!

my daughter(no pics) has this speech linked on her FB page, with the statement: "Ladies and Gentleman, meet my future Husband"

And somehow, Im ok with that. :eek:lol:

Kirk Cousins is a great guy. Talented yet humble. And as hard working of a player as their is in the college game. Im sure every school has it's great guys, but as an MSU alum Im pretty proud to say "he's one of ours".

How did you wind up on a Tennessee sports message board?
Moved here almost 5 years ago. My daughter just graduated HS, had a full academic to MSU, UF or to UT. She had to decide between the schools she has loved for her entire life, and the school that keeps her close to mom and pop. So, she will be a vol (and a walk on lady vol with pretty good potential to make the team. I dont want to jinx her by revealing any more than that)

Anyways. She will be moving in next week. She will be a great addition to the school, and she will get a great education in the process. BUT, one weekend every fall, she is going to have a very tough time.

I have told her that Season Football tickets are mandatory. She has to get the full SEC experience, or she might as well go to TTU or something. But as a lifelong Spartan and Gator, she has not yet convinced herself that she will be able to cheer for tVols in any sport except her own. But I know she will be fine once things start to get going.

When he mentioned the verses, I got scared. But I was glad to see that he didnt take it any farther. Kinda/sorta went with faith, but didnt pump religion. If that makes any sense.

Im just hoping that ESPN doesnt have some clown on there giving him the "you are a better person just by spending 5 min in a room with him" crap.

But there is enough anti-msu sentiment out there, that he probably wont be put through that mess.

Anyways, I am with you completely. :good!:

She sounds like a very talented young lady. Tennessee will be proud to have her as a student. And don't worry, she'll be yelling Go Big Orange in Neyland before you know it.. :shades:

Thanks. Yeah, she's a good kid.

Hopefully I dont bore you too much, but we were in MI for my grandmothers funeral the day she got her acceptance letter to MSU. Proud day for everyone. She was very happy. But the next day she had already realized that 8-1/2 hours from mom and pop was going to be tough to deal with. By the time we got back home, she told me she just didnt think MSU would work.

It has helped that UT will be free. and she will get a chance to compete. (she will compete with you for the air you breathe if she thought it gave her an advantage in something)

I have told her from the beginning that it doesnt matter where she goes to school. Her 3 options were top of the line. And this was about making HER mark on the world, not about following mine.

Good kid. Proud of her choices. And someday, she will probably even buy a Vols tshirt or something. :whistling:

Didn't matter, still a great speech nonetheless. I don't understand the sensitivity to this.

I know a lot of Mich State people who fear it because they dont want the comparison to Tebow. I dont think he will get slurped by ESPN/CBS etc quite as much as Tebow did, but I also dont think it is possible for ANYONE to get slurped that much!!

EDIT: WTF? Detroit Tigers? Awesome! Restore the Roar!

Haha that's a good point about Tebow, and I sure hope Detroit can get something going! I've been living in Michigan these past few years. Good luck to your daughter at UT, I'm sure she'll enjoy her time in Knoxville!
