Knecht > Edey

DK is the best I've seen in a Tennessee Uniform; head to head with Bernard King. And Dalton has a good head on his shoulders. We won't see the likes of Dalton Knecht again. Just this one magical season. And yes, He is the Best player in the Country. No other player could have done what he did last night.

I am on a cruise right now, and only saw the highlights of last nights game, versus Auburn, and holy shoot, Dalton was dropping bombs all over the court. I think our three point shooters should be called “The Bomb Squad”

Recently, in my neighborhood, i was driving down the street and saw a kid (maybe 10) who had on a DK jersey. He was dribbling a basketball walking down the sidewalk. Kinda looked like DK may have looked as a ten year old. I pulled up, told him I loved his DK jersey and his eyes lit up. He said "He's the best player I've ever watched play". I told him to enjoy it cause DK is a generational talent. As I drove off, this kid had a smile as wide as all outdoors and hollered "GO VOLS"! A future DK? Who knows?

I'm ever amused at arguments for "Who's the greatest of all time"; sports, music, politics, shuffleboard, etc. Y'all can leave me out of it while I just appreciate my favorites. GBO.
This is were I am as well. Just too many variables to compare "back then" to present day. BUT....I do recognize how great DK is and certainly would have to be named among the best to don the orange and white.... just for this season alone.

Knecht is better than Lofton, Grant and Houston, imo. I didn't get to watch Bernard King play, but I think there has to be a fair discussion Knecht is beside him. With that said, it's really hard to argue Knecht is more deserving than Edey. Both guys are equally important to their teams and essentially unstoppable at this level.

Edey is size, Knecht is skill. No comparison as to who the “best basketball player” is.

To be fair Edey does have some athletic ability and is a good offensive player. Unlike a guy that just has height like a Manute Bol or Shawn Bradley, Edey can play. Now with that said, I think there is no doubt that DK should be the NPOY this season! Dude is unreal and UT is where we are mostly because of him.

I mostly agree, but DK probably lost his shot at NPOY with the ankle injury at NC and the low scoring stretch while recovering

For what it is worth I think Edey will be neutralized in the NBA and Special K’s versatility at all three levels will keep him productive. Seems to be validated by all the projections he will be the first US player taken in the draft.

King was on a different level. He was relentless, efficient and dominant on both ends of the court. Way more athletic thank DK. One of the fastest people off the floor you'll ever see. He is the best basketball player in SEC history and that includes Maravich.

Dude Dalton is the most amazing player I have watched play for Tennesssee. Better than Grant Williams, better than the Admiral, better than Chris Lofton, better than Ron Slay. Wasn’t alive to watch Alan Houston. Go freaking vols. I love how Dalton just takes over. When we are losing he says f this im going off. I love him. Go vols !
Bernard King was better than any of them but that goes back before most modern Vol fans. I’m dating myself. King was just as unstoppable at times and he was a ferocious rebounder. Knecht is the best offensive player all around that I’ve seen since King.

I do get a little sick of hearing Jimmy Dykes and others suggesting we're relying too much on Knecht in the same breath with praising Kentucky's "higher ceiling." Are they serious? Such short memories. Need I remind them Knecht scored just 16 at Rupp while the team scored 103 in a win over a Kentucky team that was saying before the game that our entire offense runs through Knecht? Jimmy please.
Jimmy does get a little carried away with hyperbole at times but overall I like him most of the time.

My beef with Jimmy D is they pair him with Hart and they both want to be the color guy and obviously Dykes is better at the role. When teamed up, they do a terrible job identifying who committed a foul and who has subbed in / out. They get caught up in their stories and don’t stay with the game 100%. They’re not the only ones, but I find it very annoying.

Edey uses his size for all it’s worth and very good at what he does but what can he do outside of maybe 10 feet consistently? Knecht uses all 3 areas to score consistently and anytime he wants. He has the perfect game for the NBA. Yes this isn’t the NBA but neither is Purdue
