UT is about to win 25 games for the fifth time in seven years. Seems like Barnes might be pretty decent at roster management, certainly as to the team gelling in a timely mannerFor sure, but they have so much roster turnover each year that they are always young and only jell late in the season if at all.
We can easily replace Jefferson if he transfers down. The thing is, he's been in the dog house here, maybe because of academics. I don't really know but that's the hint from the real insider in this forum. If he gets his chit together, he might stick around to matriculate some academically. That would be a plusJJJ, Santi, and Knecht will be replaced by Awaka, Carr/Gainey, Mashack.
Not quite equal replacements, but close, especially with improved Philips and Estrella
Coming into the game Saturday , I had a bad feeling this would be Kentucky's day based on how they been scoring over 90 pts a game lately plus they lost a few games lately and needed this win more than we did. I felt they would try to come out fast and bury us shooting 3 pointers. Still, I wanted to watch DK play win or lose. He's worth the price of admission. If we play them again in the tourney, we have to get some bodies on Sheppard/Wright--not let them have open shots. And we have to hit our shots including the free throws.
Alex, I'll take "No One" for $100.I finally looked at the box score from the game. From what I understand Kentucky made some tough 3 point shots that they would be hard pressed to make again. Is that what really what happened or were open? I refuse to watch the game. They had 3 guys go off from the 3 point line and Dillingham wasn't one of them. I do wonder who was guarding these players.
Some were open because of a great play. Some were open because long offensive rebounds. Some were open because they have great players who will fire it up, if open, from anywhere. It was the ultimate nightmare from a bunch of great players, frequently capitalizing on mistakes. It was their best win of the year. That's BasketballI finally looked at the box score from the game. Agree. Lot of it too was us collapsing on our help defense, leaving someone open. They were incredibly hot. Disappointing to lose, but that Kentucky team shooting like that would have probably beaten anyone that day. Some were open because of a great play. Some were open because long offensive rebounds.
