Yep, we did it again. Brought a butter knife to the SEC gunfight.

1st Tier Nick Saban, Les Miles

2nd Tier Steve Spurrier, Mark Richt

3rd Tier Kevin Sumlin, Will Muschamp,
Bret Bielema

4th Tier Gary Pinkel, Dan Mullen, James Franklin,
Hugh Freeze, Gus Malzahn,
Butch Jones, Mark Stoops

None of the fourth tier coaches will ever compete for the SEC title. And that's just the way it is. Obviously the program itself (not just the HC running it) has a lot to do with it, but UT cemented it's place for years to come. Sad, but true.

STFU!! You caint grade a coach the day he was hired, you dont know what he will do in the SEC. Go find another team this crap gets old after awhile.

Just shut up and support our coach already. At least wait until the season or hell at least until we lose a recruit or something to blast the guy.

I don't play the lotto, but if you can tell the future, I just might start.

I wasn't real happy with the hire, either, but the man has earned his shot. As a Vol fan, I hope he can get it done! Not going to bash someone who wants to be here and actually has a winning record, unlike our last 2 coaches.

1st tier coach: Saban, Miles...well..neither are coming to TN
1st tier want: Jon Gruden...Chucky aint coming to TN

Anyone that puts Les Miles above Steve Spurrier on coaching tiers shouldn't be taken seriously.

Twelve yrs ago you would have a point........SOS is past his prime.....you do recognize that, don't you? Not saying is isn't still a good coach, but he isn't the SOS of yesterday.
