Know it is just a money grab

But had to grab this shirt for our first NY6 bowl in years+ my first as a fan (starting watching in 2015).

Do you guys have any cool game-specific memorabilia?

JUST a money grab? Absolutely not. This was a helluva good comeback season for the Vols. Had they not flubbed up against South Carolina? (Yeah that was a disaster, but that is football.) They would have gone to the SEC championship game, and be in the playoffs. Still, it is a NY6 bowl. And it has been a helluva long time. Yeah it's a money grab, but it means a helluva lot more.

Many years ago when a college football game was over you would see t-shirts with the teams names and scores.... I was at the sugar bowl game 1/1/91 when Tennessee played Virginia. We were ranked top 10 and Virginia was not ranked if I remember. But Virginia had some nice players on that team, Herman Moore and Terry Kirby are two I remember. But there Vols had to rally late to pull off the win 23-22.
The t-shirt read
Tennessee -23
Virgina- 22 slim?

Misspelled Virginia. Lol. I don't know what happened to that shirt.

Ah. The Miracle on 34th Second. I was there too, and as luck would have it I had lousy seats in the end zone.......but the end zone where Thompson scored to win the game.....so they were the MOST AWESOME SEATS EVER!!

Amsler's run to set up the TD starts at 2:29:10 or so. Amsler at FB, and the Antone Davis/Charles McRae/Tom Myslinski OL. Followed by a Tony Thomson leap for the TD. As I recall Majors went away from the run most of the game, even though it was working. Thankfully, we went back to it in the 4th, and won a squeeker.

Great stuff!!!

I had a 1998 Tennessee/Nebraska shirt that said "Shuck the Huskers". I wore it to school and had to turn it inside out, because they said it had profanity. Haha

I have a couple of shirts from a certain Tostitos Bowl, a sweatshirt from the Sugar Bowl where Vinny got his ass handed to him. I recently found an autographed John Ward button.

I read your post in my best John Ward voice. My seats were club level 15 yrd line on the Tennessee side but on the other end of the field. Pandemonium ensued when Tony T got up and in.

Do you remember the Wahoo band of Virginia halftime performance? A slight against Elvis? Many vol fans piled out of the Superdome saying "Don't mess with Elvis". Good memories. That team was loaded with NFL players.

Losing to SCjr had no bearing on the SEC Championship game for us. We wouldn’t have gone even had we won. Georgia was undefeated. We lost to Georgia. Though I agree with the rest of your post.

I've got a white away jersey with #16 on it. The shoulders say Heisman trophy. Still wear it occasionally.
I also have one of those Barbie Tennessee cheerleader dolls. Remember Starting Lineup figures? Have a Peyton one in a Tennessee and a Colts uniform (never opened). Bought a 6 pack of Coca-Cola bottles that has power T logo and National champions on each one.
Also bought a carved wooden football with a power T gold medal on on the side.
Bought a lot of money grab items in '98.
