I assume your wealth of worldly knowledge knows no bounds bro and spans many decades of experience. What percentage of responsible, productive adults would you surmise even know how to "tweet"? While I will concede that most people use social networking (primarily facebook) I do not know a single adult in my profession, church, or circle of friends that is on twitter. The only place I ever even see mention of it is adults with too much free time following the tweets of players/recruits or celebrities making the news with something lewd or incriminating they "tweeted". Most people today struggle so much with spelling and grammar they would be wise to leave the written word alone.

Twitter can be used to get breaking information on things a person is interested in. This interest can be anything from Tennessee Volunteer Football (it is really great if you follow the tweets of reliable recruitniks and managers) to news happening in your region and local areas (like following your local new station and getting tweets about traffic accident on busy roads in your area, events that may close off roads, school closings and emergency weather warnings)...you can follow twitter accounts for you favorite local live music scenes and get info on who is playing at the venue on a regular basis...

My point is garbage in/garbage out but it can be used in a smart way to keep you up-to-date on things you would like to know about.

Your anecdotal evidence has me convinced.

What kind of mayor is even ON twitter? That crap is for teenagers, kids and ignorant celebrities. Like Obama saying he has gangster rap in his ipod. Really? The leader of the free world listening to morons rhyme about dope, drugsand guns? This country is going to hell in a handbasket. Quickly. For the record I'm only 35 years old....I'm not some 90 year old out of touch with the world. I'm ashamed of what American culture has become. Hell is gonna be standing room only. "Book it."

No, you are out of touch. I follow all of my local elected leaders on twitter. Great way to keep in tune with the community.
